Randy's Whale Watching Trip

I have been on 3 whale watching adventures prior to this trip. Randy's has been the only one I have actually seen whale's on. I also found it interesting that Randy's boat was the first one out of the dock's and when the other whale watching companies came out, they immediately came to where Randy's was located. Randy's was also following and getting closer to the whales than all the other boats. He also stayed longer than the other boats. The first boat out and the last one back. Also, the least crowded. Randy's was recommended to me, and I strongly recommend them also.

captain was great, knowledgeable, helpful. not too many on boat. affordable. whales could have been more cooperative, but we still got to hang with them a bit. saw other cool ocean critters too.

I needed more loud anounce for a whale information.

After spending over an hour on the boat trying to find the whales, the crew was able to locate a pair of whales. We were able to see them for about 10 min., then the crew said our time was up and we had to head back. Another boat from a different company was in the same area, and they were allowed to stay an extra half hour to view the whales. I felt our viewing time was cut short because of their insistence on staying within the time limits of the tour. The boat was also rather small. I would go with another tour provider in the future to do this activity.

Staff was not friendly and there was not very much seating. We did not see anything but that was not the staff's fault. The boat ride was okay. It would of helped if the staff talked to the customers and gave them information about the animals or state. It was a silent boat trip on the water. I would not recommend the boat ride for any kid under 5. There was a whole family including a little baby who were throwing up. Make sure you come well prepared for sea sickness.

In November we saw several whales, but the most awesome sight was HUNDREDS of dolphins swimming right beside the boat! They looked like torpedoes. Great fun. Very helpful & knowledgeable. They even loaned us heavy jackets. If there is a tendency towards sea-sickness, take something a couple of hours before boarding. Even feeling a little "green around the gills" until the medicine kicked in, I had a blast & would highly recommend Randy's.

Two friends and I decided to take a Whale Watching tour while visiting from Utah and did some searching online. I've gone on previous trips, but had never gone with Randy's. We were all very glad to have taken this trip. The captain was very knowledgeable about the area and the animals most likely to be seen. We were able to follow a single humpback whale for quite some time and it even swam with another one for a little while. Both whales breached in addition to just surfacing for air. All in all it was a very good trip and I will go again when I am in the area.

Would highly recommend !! Caring staff and they made sure we saw whales. Awesome trip!

Unfortunately Randy's couldn't get enough customers for their trip, but set us up on the Princess line down the dock. We spotted a mother Humpback and her calf and followed them around for about an hour! It was awesome!

My review does not reflect the staff or the trip at all. The staff was friendly and knowledgable and I would recomend the trip to other ADULTS. I would not recommend it for families. I would have apprecaited a "freindly warning" when purchasing the tickets that the water may be choppy and young children have tendancy to get sick easier than adults do. We probably would have listened to that warning and not attended this trip with them. Thanks, Kim
