| First off we spent more time traveling there and back,than actually fishing.poor tackle rentals,equipment was probably 20 plus years old.the trip was over booked ,40 plus fishermen on the boat.hardly any bait only a little cut squid.but the deck hand did do a good job cleaning alot of fish. | ||||||

| We had a great day of fishing with Randy's Fishing Trips. The time it took to get to our destination was a little long, however very profitable! The fish started biting immediately and soon we were bringing in fish by the droves! The deckhands were very helpful and patient with those of us who did not have a lot of experience with ocean fishing. The only bummer was when our fishing lines got tangled with the other fishermen's lines (on the boat), but the deckhands were there to untangle them. We had a lot of fun and hope to do it again someday. We had delicious beer- battered fish that night for dinner....yum! | ||||||

| Don't waste your money on the big fancy ships - Randy's whale watching trip is fabulous. He customizes the trip and takes you to the whales. We saw Orca's, Humpback's, Dolphins, Sea Otters, Sea Lions, Pelicans, etc...Nature at its best. Old and young were equally delighted by the trip and we didn't have to go all the way to Alaska. Highly recommended. | ||||||

| We were on this trip on July 15 and we had lots of fun watching 5 or 6 whales and a few hundred dolphins. The captain was very informative and made real efforts (the trip lasted an half hour longer) to spot and approach a group of whales. | ||||||

| We enjoyed our trip VERY much. The crew was very knowledgable and friendly. We stayed out for 3 1/2 hours and saw plenty of whales and dolphins. As an added treat we were able to view the rare site of three Baskins sharks feeding right next to our boat. We will definitely return for many more trips with this company. | ||||||

| We booked this trip because my Dad was coming for his 70th birthday. He is an avid fishermen in the Atlantic but had never fished in the Pacific. We couldn't afford a private charter, but this option was very affordable. My dad didn't like that fact that he had to buy a license (on the east coast the boat license covers everyone on board, apparently), but we had a great time and caught a ton of fish!! There were quite a few younger boys on board, too.....and the older guys made them feel more than welcome and the crew were very helpful, too. Best part was the deck hand (we had Josh that day) cleaned the fish for us (bring a cooler to take them home in...you can buy ice there). Josh charges you $1 a fish....please be sure to tip him well, too. It's worth it! We brought home about 30 pounds of fish and all we had to do was throw it into the freezer. Great trip for avid fishermen and beginners alike! | ||||||

| For the 2nd time we were disappointed in Randy's. Last year we had a whale watching trip cancelled at the last minute after we drove 160 miles and arrived at the dock. This year my two grandsons and I were booked a cod fishing trip that when we arrived at the dock at 6:30am discovered that they had chartered the boat to a large group and we were left 'in the cold'. There was no one at the office, no notice before driving the 160 miles to the dock (email!!), no notice at the dock. A kind bystander mentioned that they were a part of the charter and maybe we should go to Chris's Fishing Trips because he thought they were taking Randy's customers booked on the cod trip. So at the last minute we got on Chris's boat.....at least my two grandsons were not disappointed. Do yourself a favor.....book with Chris's.......had a great fishing trip with them! | ||||||

| They are not the most beautiful or expensive on the wharf, but the trip was great and we did see whales. I have used Randy's in the past and always saw whales, dolphins etc. | ||||||

| Well , the office that you wait in on the pier is full of smokers,nice people but no respect for the non smokers.The captain of the boat will wait for late passengers if you have already paid for your tickets, so thats a plus if your running behind.The deck mate only came out of the captains area once in awhile, mostly when there was no whales around or to let us know there was a whale,When, we finally found a whale the captain never got close enough to let us see them, And I have a zoom camera. When we found one, They didn't get close enough to reap any rewards, so that sucked.We were out so long that the boat raced toward shore for about an hour and a half at full throttle. so a family with a little girl , had to comfort her the whole time because she was vomiting everywhere. Another couple had waves coming over the cabin and landing on them , soaking them completely . So all I have to say is go with the Monterey bay whale watch(aka Sam's) We did them last year and they get as close as possible,And there captain doesn't beat you half to death on the way back. | ||||||

| First time fishing for Cod/Rockfish on a boat in the pacific. It was a Tuesday so there were room to move about on the nice clean boat. The captain and crew were nice and helpful throughout the trip. Going to the fishing areas took about an hour of boat riding south down the coastline. Along the coastline, the waves were not as strong as in the open ocean. The fishing was great with frequent catches. There seemed to be an abundance of rockfish in the area. Different sizes and colors. Everyone caught their limit. Everyone was back on dry land by noon ! | ||||||
