Randy's Fishing and Whale Watching Trips

I am a little disappointed about our whale watching trip. We eventually saw a pod of grey whales, but they were so far away it was hard to see them and photograph them. Randy's Whale Watching website gives you the idea that you will see the whales close up. Not sure why we didn't try to get closer. I know wild mammals are hard to predict. I guess we were lucky to see any at all. The trip itself was well run and the staff very friendly. They did their best to point wildlife out. The boat was clean and comfortable. I would recommend the trip to others, but not with small children. They don't quite understand it all yet. I think children under the age of 5 should be free, not $15.

Didn't see whales, but saw other animals, and they gave us a pass to try another day. PA system in cabin difficult to hear, otherwise, great service and a great trip. Henry

We really enjoyed the trip and the captain shared good information about the gray whale. He seemed determined that we see some and we did. We saw alot of spouting and some humps, but no flukes. The only problem was that there wasn't enough places to sit on the boat with the rough waters and all. We also enjoyed the gal in the shop who was so friendly.

This was fun for my whole crew. The only change that I would recommend would be to pad the rails on the boat to prevent children from getting hurt while the boat is rocking. Otherwise, the crew was great and helpful and the boat was in good condition (before the passengers' illness), making an altogether pleasurable experience. I highly recommend to anyone, even those with kids.

Randy's whale watching was awesome! We saw several whales and were close enough to get a great view and great photos! The guide on our boat was incredibly enthusiastic and knowledgeable on the subject and answered any questions we had. We saw other whale watching boats out at the same time but doubt they had the personal touch and views that we did. Would definately recommend this trip to anyone!

We were very pleased with the wildlife we saw! Grey Whales.. adults and calves; Risso's Dolphins and Orcas as a highlight! Thanks for the great trip.

I'm so glad we chose Randy's company for whale watching. I was impressed by their excellent website. They were friendly, professional, efficient. Their office and boat were neat and clean. They made us feel that it was genuinely important to them that we have a good experience. We didn't feel rushed. They educated us about whale behavior. And we saw whales!

It has been a dream of mine to see whales out in their own enviornment for a very long time. While planning a trip through California for our family I decided that we would take a whale watching tour. We had many miles to cover during the spring break and had to cut corners wherever possible to afford everything we wanted to do. I found the ad for Randy's online and the prices were very reasonable. We were so happy with this company and the crew who took us out. We felt that we more than got our money's worth and had the luck of seeing several orcas including new parents and their baby. We were all thrilled with the way the captain kept trying to give us a better view of the whales and also he didn't seem to scrimp for time at all, giving us ample time to get plenty of pictures and video. Our family was extremely pleased with the whole experience and very happy that we chose this company. I would recommend them highly. Thank You Very Much!!

Although my trip left 30 minutes late I had a pretty good time. The trip lasted a little longer than expected and we went further out into the ocean than expected too. As far as the whales, we saw some of them but they were not doing anything spectacular. That is not Randy's fault thow. Overall the crew was pretty knowledgeable and were friendly.

We had a wonderful time. Small group and great guide. Randy's Whale Watching did a nice job of providing information and kept us out as long as possible to find and view the whales. They kept a respectful distance from the whales. My grandson got seasick and our guide was very nice to him and kept talking to him to get his mind off the sea sickness. Fun time.

Our initial booking date had to be cancelled due to weather conditions. I received a call from their reservation agent explaining and offering to reschedule and accomodate our group. Their tour did not run on the day that we needed, so they arranged for us to go with another group.

Really enjoy the trip, Captain and deck man (John)are very friendly and helpful. The whole crew lead us to excited spots and catch lot of fishes! John was courteous. very experienced in helping people entangled and snagged lines.
