Jim was very informative. We enjoyed all the tidbits he threw our way. It was nice having the bus trip stop a few times and be able to get out and walk and still hear lots of interesting info. Would highly recommend this tour, you won't be disappointed!

Good to certain point.

We enjoyed the guide and the first couple of hours. After that, the comments and some of the points of interest were redundant. The guide was very knowledgeable on the sites, and great little side-stories, however the last hour or so, seemed like filler. Of most concern was that the buses air cond. was not working and made the trip unpleasant. We thought that, that should have been acknowledged earlier and a new bus sent out to meet us along the route. We ended up getting off at an early downtown stop and went by foot to our own next sight. It was generally well done, but could have been about an hour shorter in length. Still worth the money with an air cond. bus.

Very much enjoyed my tour. I found it to be very informative, more personal and a nice change from the big commercial tours. Our guide was gracious with a terrific sense of humor and had a superior knowlegde of the city of NY. Highly recomended!

My husband and I attended this tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a great way to see the upper east, upper west, harlem, central park, if you are on limited time or don't want to do all the walking (i am pregnant). We liked the fact the guide gave brief and interesting information, and we then took notes as to what locations we wanted to spend more time at. We were particulary interested in the old money and properties of New York and this tour gave great information on this. Great tour.

Best thing we did in NY!

My teenage daughter and I had a fun-filled weekend of shopping, musicals and a Gala event but this tour was really the highlight of our four days in NY. Three hours of seeing celebrity homes, hearing the NY society history and getting the juicy bits of gossip made it well worth every penny! Our guide kept us entertained with personal stories and knows some of the stars himself. We took a short walk in Central Park as well so that covered one more thing that we wanted to do but wouldn't have had time for. As a former florist and gardener, I love parks and we saw what is probably the prettiest part of it, the French and English garden and crabapple lane. Great photo opportunity! We now know that people must be insane or fantastically wealthy to have a place in NYC. I mean, $30million for an apartment???? I'll take a country home any day! We saw the locations of where some of our favorite movies and tv shows are filmed. Definitely a 5 star tour!!!! Next time we go to NY, we're doing this again. Sharon Hoehner

Not only was this a delightful and relaxing way to see several neighborhoods of the city but was also very informative as to the natives that inhabit the island. You really get a feel of everday life as well as the homes, and gossip of the famous and wealthy. Mike, our guide, loves the city and the people who live there. Would recommend to anyone who wants to skip the hassle of the large buses and impersonal tour guides.

My wife, daughter, and I experienced the Rich & Famous tour in November 2008 and found it very enjoyable. Jim Dykes was our guide and proved to be very knowledgable about the city in general and specifically the rich and famous. The tour group was small and intimate. The tour was a combination of bus ride and short walks and included adequate breaks with one stop at a local bakery. Jim even dropped us off at Grand Central Terminal and provided a short tour of the terminal at no additional cost. I highly recommend this tour to anyone.

My wife and I were in town for only a couple of days, and we were interested in touring around the Central Park areas of Manhattan. We were looking for a tour that had a more personal feel to it than the typcial double decker tours, and this tour was perfect. We took this tour on a Saturday morning with Jim Dykes. Jim provided a lot of history, current facts, and gossip about the various areas and sites we were touring. The stories were not only informative, but really entertaining. The tour lasted just over three hours which fit perfectly into our weekend. We highly recommend this tour.
