Would love to go out into the ocean a litle but I don't know that's feasible.

The Riverfront Cruise was a special way to spend a portion of our romantic getaway to Fort Lauderdale this Memorial Day weekend. The commentators were very knowledgable and it was fun to see what the "good life" is like in the area. You know how you would stand on top of a desk and see a completely different point of view of one spot than just sitting in your desk? Well this cruise gives the same effect times ten. The view from the water is spectacular. However, I wish they sold more than one beer at their bar.

As Described

This tour was as they described it. We ran into some very heavy rain and ended up soaking wet. Not the company's fault but the decision to move could have been made a little sooner. Seems that the trip was a little shorter than promised but overall we enjoyed it.

Fun time

This was a fun time for me and my mom who was coming in from out of town. The tour guide talked a bit too fast, but he was comical and fun. Since my mom and I were younger (under 50), we did not know many of the "famous" people. We enjoyed seeing the beautiful homes in the riverfront!

Nice way to see more of FLL

We took a taxi from the airport to the tour to kill time between flights. The cab cost about $15 each way. This was a great way to kill some time and see more of Fort Lauderdale from the water. The weather was perfect which made it especially nice, but even on hot days it would be good because you have the option of sitting indoors in the AC. Good price for the experience and although the narrator's jokes were a bit cheesy, I'm sure they would be enteraining for children. We even had dolphins swim up next to the boat, so that was an added delight.

My husband and I had done a similar tour once before through the cruise ship which we had thoroughly enjoyed. This time we brought some friends who'd never been to Fort Lauderdale before and wanted them to have the same experience. The timing worked out very well - an hour and a half was a good length of time for this tour (the other one was a lot longer because it included other sightseeing which we did not need). The narration was humorous and timely and the staff was friendly. The tour was well worth the money (it also included wine or beer). I did object to having had to paid $2.00 more per person by booking over the Internet. We could have just gone to the ticket booth when we got there (it wasn't at all busy) and paid $20 instead of the $22 we'd paid in advance. It was handy to have made the reservations in advance and we were able to get on the next available tour even though our reservation was for two hours later. We were disappointed that the entire Riverfront complex was so dead - I guess a casualty of the current economy. The touristy atmosphere was gone with so many restaurants and shops having closed down. Overall a good experience. I would recommend it.

SIT BACK AND RELAX

The "Good"---Take the Riverfront tour and bring your sunscreen! It's a nice, relaxing ride....not quite long enough to plan your whole day around, but well worth the price. Daytime tours are sun-filled, so bring water! The crew is nice and the Captain is knowledgeable, however, if you are so busy talking to other passengers, you'll miss the humor the Captain relates in his tour narration. Paying attention is half the fun! Just feet away from the ship are good, outdoor eateries, but food and drink are also available on board. Again, if you pay attention to the narration, you'll have the opportunity to win a free drink with a guessing game. My tour was on Wednesday at half-price, with drinks not included but tours with included drinks are also available for a few dollars more, without breaking the bank! Either way, it's fun. The "Bad"---Know where you are going when you drive to the boat! This location is not easy to find. Your can park on either side of the river but you'll take a hike if you choose the side near the jail. Bring a good pair of sneakers and have have plenty of change on hand for parking meters! If you park on the same side of the river as the tour is located, there is a parking deck but bring a hand-held GPS unit to get you to the ticket booth! All-in-all, it's a good time for all. Bring a few dollars to tip the crew and have a good, digital camera in hand and ready to use. Say thanks to the Captain! Remember, don't be sooooo busy talking that you miss the narration and keep in mind that others will miss what is said because you are talking! As an added bonus, if you have some free time, watch how long it takes for the train to come across the bridge once the warning sounds and the bridge lowers! Hint, bring a deck of cards or a scrabble board while waiting for the train!
