This was our 3rd time on the tour. We invite out of town guests every 4 years. Interesting to see that former property sites have been replaced with bigger homes. Well worth the 90 tour. Bob

Entertaining, but Not Handicapped-Friendly
Mon, Jan 21  11:00 AM RUDYMANTEL Male 70+ Local Other
Our group was 5 people including one disabled person. When we arrived at the check-in for the cruise excursion, we were told that the boat that is normally used for the cruises was about to be inspected by the Coast Guard and we would be going on their "party boat", which is set up for large parties, weddings, etc. Unfortunately, that boat was docked quite a ways from the check-in and required a walk that was almost too far for our disabled member. When we got to the boat, a complaint was lodged with the captain, who initially blew us off. Very quickly, he seemed to have a change of heart and ushered us to the front of the lower level of the boat, which would not normally have passengers. This was a good thing since the steps to the upper level would have been too steep and narrow for our friend. We did appreciate the effort to accommodate our party and the rest of the cruise was fairly comfortable. This is a cruise where you get to observe the houses and boats of wealthy people - "how the other half lives", or at least how they vacation. Our captain, in his narration, seemed to be resentful/envious of the people who owned these properties - you could hear it in his comments. We would have enjoyed our time better without this bias coming through in the talk. There were many reminders to visit the bar, then many reminders to leave a tip on the way out. As well as an offer to buy photographs of your party, which were shot on the way onto the boat. One of the members of our group was just about cut out of the picture, which we bought anyway for $12. All in all, the cruise was fairly enjoyable. The regular cruise boat has a lower level that accommodates guests and would have probably been easier for us to board. I would warn anyone with very limited mobility to question the cruise line about access before going on the tour.

good time

The cruise was very informative was everything I expected it to be. The boats and houses were all beautiful and the weather just made things even better. The only complaint I reallly have is that I know prices are to be raised on small things but a glass of orange juice is 3 dollars? That's just insanity.

one half was great

First half of the cruise narrated by captain with a bit of whimsy, although he got a little tiresome at the end (repeating the same thing) Second half was pretty terrible, with some guy from Boston who had a negative bed side manner and didn't use the PA, and was hard to undderstand as well.

Ft. Lauderdale Boat Tour

I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see Ft. Lauderdale's waterfront millionaire's row. This is a great activity especially when beach weather is not permissible. The captain and his mates were all very friendly and courteous as well as informative. My only suggestion would be to turn up the volume on the speakers. We were seated on the top outside deck and could not really hear all that the captain was saying (mostly due to other passengers constantly talking above the captain's voice) - Still, a great trip!!!!

This tour is exactly what it is named as. The Venice of America. You feel like you are in a modern Venice, where typical venician houses are replaced with Millionare Homes and gandolas are replaced with private boats and yachts.

Nice little trip around intra-coastal. Entertaining stories. Loved the Christmas lights. Only 2 downsides...a little too much mention of the bartender Bruce and the crowd upstairs was too loud to hear the commentary for a portion of the tour....
