Bobby Pinn is a great tour guide and this tour is great. Got to get an egg cream at the Gem Spa. and see where the Fillmore East was. CBGB's too. great tour. My only gripe is personal. Led Zepplin is the worst major band in recorded history and you spent too much time on them. But it all works out because this tour is worth it. After the tour go to Manitoba's and see the pics on the wall

I highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in the history of the East Village rock/punk scene - our tour guide Bobby Pin was really genuinely interested in the history and showed us a lot of sights that i'd passed by many times before, but never knew the history behind the location (fillmore east, gem spa, the mosiac lightpoles) It's really sad that most of the great clubs and venues in the area are gone, and St Marks is a shell of what it used to be.. but you get a real sense of what it was like back in the heyday We enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in music!

Really enjoyed this as it took us to a part of New York that we wouldn't otherwise have visited. Bobby has a great knowledge of the history of rock and punk as well as a lot of interesting and sometimes shocking anecdotes! I knew about the punk rock scene in London so it was great to find out about New York. In fact it inspired me to get some Ramones music! The group was very mixed , all ages and from all over the world and we had a great time. There is a lot of walking involved but as you are engaged with the history and your surroundings it's not too bad.

The tour guide was engaging and informative - could have been a bit more well rounded - should be called a Ramones tour... but enjoyed it nonetheless

The Rock and Punk tour was a super way to spend an afternoon in Manhattan. The East Village and Alphabet City are off the usual tourist trail, it was great to explore these neighbourhoods. Our guide was hugely knowledgable and had endless anecdotes. Rock and punk are not our prefered musical genres, but this did not really matter and we have found ourselves searching Youtube for clips (and even enjoying the music) following the tour.

a really excellent experience, one of the highlights of our stay in New york. Bobby was a great guide who really knew his stuff, was really interesting and told great stories without it sounding staged. I'd highly recommend this to anyone with an interest in music.

This was way better than expected. it was nice to walk around the east village and alphabet city and just see and feel the history that was there as bobby describes some of the locations. Although this is centered around the punk scene in the 70s there is just so much rock and roll history here that its just awesome even if you're not all that into punk - you'll see other really kool rock and roll things like where the Filmore East was and where Charlie Parker lived, Iggy lived, Madonna's first apt. was, and then do things that are kool like just walking through Tompkins Sq. park. Bobby does an excellent job of telling stories and filling you in on the history of the area and time. Lots of people in the neighborhood seem to know him too. This is an excellent tour. For anyone who loves rock and roll I would highly recommend. My only regret is that I didn't get an egg cream at the famous Gem Spa.
