Bobby Pinn's walking tour is a MUST if you're in NYC and a fan of REAL r'n'r such as New York Dolls, Dead Boys, Ramones, etc. He gives you a fantastic experience of the times back when it all happened around East Village - the history 'bout the big rock stars but also some cool stories about the underground heroes. A MUST, I say.

If you love music history, then New York City is a must see and The East Village Punk Rock Junket Tour is MUST do. No matter how much you read, watch, listen and hear there is nothing like being guided around in person in a historic location to put it all in perspective. Standing in front of a building where classic rock events of the past have taken place and listening to stories being told by host Bobby Pinn is the closest thing I've had to a time machine!
As I've already said a Must do! If I happen to grace the mecca of New York City again, I'll happily take The East Village Punk Rock Junket Tour once more!!
Cheers Bobby!

I found the web page for Bobby Pinn's rock walks while looking for stuff to do on a short break in NY. His walk listed sites associated with bands I've been listening to for years so I signed up for one immediately. I then got an email form him asking if I'd like to change the date because the weather wasn't looking good for the day I'd chosen, which was easily taken care of.
The walk itself takes a couple of hours and starts out where Joey Ramone lived, and fittingly ends up at the site of CBGBs. In between we visited nuermous places of musical interest in Greenwich Village and the Lower East Side, from GG Allin's hotel, to Madonna's first appartment, the site of Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti album sleeve and a host of others.
If you like the music that came out of NY in the late 70s you can't go wrong with this walk. If you're a music fan in general it's well worth doing. Bobby is an engaging and friendly host - I had a great time. |

This was a very enjoyable way to spend some time - we walked through East Village and learned some cool info about rock 'n roll bands. Lot of history and fun as well. The tour guide, Bobby, had a good sense of humor and knew what he was talking about. I loved the visual ads offered with the record album covers. Highly recommend if you have a love of rock music. |

This was a great tour enjoyed by both my husband and I, punk rock enthusiasts, and our two 12 year old boys, aspiring punk rock musicians. The historical aspect of the tour along with Bobby Pinn's reartie made it a tour to remember. We're looking forward to the Dylan tour and the Beatles tour in the future. |

As a first time visitor to N.Y. this tour was ideal to get to know the East Village which is an area I was interested to see, and we were shown where the best bars in the area where, which we latter tested out. Bobby Pinn the tour guide is a really cool chap, very laid back, down to earth and easy to talk too. I highly recommend this tour if you have any interest in rock and roll music. |
