This was for the most part an interesting tour. The guide really did his research and gave an entertaining talk. He kept things interesting with trivia questions and prize giveaways. My only complaint is that there is one stretch of the tour (towards the end) where we walked several blocks with nothing to see/talk about. I understand why he wanted to end at the former CBGB's site, but he needs to either redo the route or find some more interesting stuff along the way. I felt that he could have talked about the Hells Angels block and gone into detail about the assassination attempt on Mick Jagger's life, for instance. Also - in the beginning he told us we could all go have a beer with him afterwards, but at the end of the tour he just vanished with a friend.

The tour was led by someone with excellent knowledge. He provided some good historical contexting which went beyond the subject of the tour, but placed the area and subject in relationship to the rest of New York. This created broader appeal. He also had excellent visual aids to provide the history.

This was a very enjoyable way to spend some time - we walked through East Village and learned some cool info about rock 'n roll bands. Lot of history and fun as well. The tour guide, Bobby, had a good sense of humor and knew what he was talking about. I loved the visual ads offered with the record album covers. Highly recommend if you have a love of rock music.

East Village's Musical History.

This is a greatly entertaining and interesting tour. The east village is so rich in rock history, but gentrification and development makes it unapparent to the naked eye. Our tour guide showed us where all the magic happened - the bank that was the Fillmore East, the apartment building which used to house Andy Warhol's Exploding Plastic Inevitable parties, the apartment where Joey Ramone spent the last years of his life, the building on the cover of Led Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti album, and much much more. There's something for everyone and the stories associated with those building are wild and fantastic. I learned new things about my favorite bands like Blondie, the Ramones, and the New York Dolls. It was a great experience.

Ben: It was good, full stop. Jackie: We both really enjoyed it, and having the background to many of the streets and venues added to tour and our visit to New York. As punk/rock fans we both got a lot out of the tour. It's just a shame CBGB's wasn't there to see in its glory.

This was a great tour enjoyed by both my husband and I, punk rock enthusiasts, and our two 12 year old boys, aspiring punk rock musicians. The historical aspect of the tour along with Bobby Pinn's reartie made it a tour to remember. We're looking forward to the Dylan tour and the Beatles tour in the future.

As a first time visitor to N.Y. this tour was ideal to get to know the East Village which is an area I was interested to see, and we were shown where the best bars in the area where, which we latter tested out. Bobby Pinn the tour guide is a really cool chap, very laid back, down to earth and easy to talk too. I highly recommend this tour if you have any interest in rock and roll music.

Not only is this a fabulous "show and tell" of historical rock and roll hot spots in the East Village, it is also a great walking tour of the East Village. As with any good rock show ... it is not suitable for children.

I was writing a huge research paper on punk and this tour was my first resource. Pinn is a great guide with a lot of first hand accounts and was nice enough to help me with my paper after the tour. The tour shows off the city's rock history so well, I had been to the neighborhood many times and had no idea about the amount of incredible places that are there. It really makes you want to tell the rest of the city about the amazing history it has. If you love the music or just want a really cool and engaging history lesson this is how you'll want to spend your afternoon. It's awesome.
