My first tour ever

I brought my 13 year old son with me and we both had a blast. Bobby Pinn was knowledgable and really seemed like a fan of the music, which made it even better, it wasn't just some rehashing of punk history by someone who could care less. Bobby also took some great photos of my son and I which was a plus and one picture of us in front of the great Joe Strummer mural, Bobby said "fridge magnet" and indeed it is! Ha! Thanks!

If you only like current music or mainstream rock you prob won't get much out of it because many of the stories & sites will be about people you've never heard of. But for people who grew up & really know about Warhol, the Ramones, CBGB's, Iggy Pop, etc this tour is fabulous. :)

Yea I really liked this walking tour, thanks to Bobby, the great story teller. Have understood he's writing a book, will buy it for sure...maybe the equally lovable Jimmy - I guess it's his name(?) - from the nearby Trash & Vaudeville shop is included, cannot wait ;) Anyway I warmly recommend this compact tour to everyone who's interested in classic rock and awesome stories. A very enjoyable and informative tour. Bobby Pinn is a fantastic guide, an enthusiast who knows his subject and delivers the goods with humour and insight. If you're a punk / glam rock fan this tour is for you, but anyone interested in the NY music scene over the last 40 years will get a lot out of this tour. Sure, you could Google all this stuff - but you won't be standing on the spot, with Bobby telling you his stories about the people who lived and played around the area. Unbeatable! My teenage son and I enjoyed the Rock Junket tour through the East Village. We were the only ones on the tour so we were able to ask lots of questions. Our guide was knowledgeable, organized and well prepared with photos, album covers and trivia questions and kept the tour moving along. I would recommend this tour to anyone who has an interest in NYC's rock history . I would consider going on the Bob Dylan tour the next time I'm in the city. The guide gave us a brochure of some favorite spots to visit after the tour and we had a lot of fun at Generation Records.

This was a great way to spend two hours. It also makes a great gift for anyone of any age (from anywhere) interested in the history of the punk scene in NYC. Bobby Pinn was really knowledgable and fun. Highly Recommended!

Going on this tour made me wish I'd lived in NYC in the 1970's! I have already recommended the tour to loads of friends who are also travelling to New York. I saw so many places that were connected to musicians I have always loved and the guide was able to offer so much insight into what happened at each of these places, and in most cases, show photos of how the places looked back in the day. The tour guide was also able to answer questions about sites that were not specifically on the tour and provide directions for people to find places themselves once the tour had finished. All in all, I can't praise this tour highly enough, I really enjoyed it.

Infectiously informative intertainment by Bobby

What a great 2 hours that was – starting at Joey Ramones’ one time apartment building, winding our way through the East Village and ending in the bathrooms of CBGBs. Bobby Pinn has obviously lived and breathed a lot of what he talks about, so the many asides & anecdotes come from his own experiences. And even with a hangover he related all this without notes. He was, though, ably armed with a stack of great photographs plus original record covers which he produced at the appropriate locations. Get on this tour quick because I don’t think these record covers are going to last.
