A fantastic tour with an extremely knowledgable and friendly guide, Bobby Pinn. Would recommend doing this tour early on in your trip as we did it a bit later and found out a lot of information about places we had been walking past for days! Very interesting and informative with lots of facts and picture opoorunities covering all the greats of Rock'n'Roll and even some jazz!

Very interesting to see famous venues (or the sites thereof) from the Seventies and Eighties. Particularly enjoyed CBGB's and Filmore East. Very informative & entertaining guide - Bobby ?

A very enjoyable and informative tour. Bobby Pinn is a fantastic guide, an enthusiast who knows his subject and delivers the goods with humour and insight. If you're a punk / glam rock fan this tour is for you, but anyone interested in the NY music scene over the last 40 years will get a lot out of this tour. Sure, you could Google all this stuff - but you won't be standing on the spot, with Bobby telling you his stories about the people who lived and played around the area. Unbeatable! Great Guide And A Good Tour! You See A Lot Of Historical Places And You Get A Lot Of Information. If You Have A Little Imagination You Can Take Your Brain Back In Those Days And You Can See The Ramones, Iggy Pop Or Television Walkin' The Streets And Performin' Their Gigs!

I would fully recommend the East Village Rock n Punk Tour if your interested in seeing tthe venues and hearing all about the music and people who lived in the East village, it was superb ! Our guide Bobby Pinn was very friendly and so knowledgable we were taken to CBGB's and The Fillmore East, Joey Ramone's NYC pad, St. Marks Hotel, Iggy Pop's former residence, Andy Warhol's Electric Circus, Madonna's first NYC apartment and many more... He took time to explain the history and show us the places these artistes hanged out in including the famouse CBGB club he has loads of album covers and posters showing the stuff from the venues. He gave us a leaflet at the end with lots of information and good places to eat and drink in the area. I would say dont miss this !!!!

This tour was very well done. The tour guide, Bobby Pin, was likeable and interesting, easy to understand. He really knew his stuff. He had lots of visual aids, photos and album covers, which added a lot to the tour. Any big Rock fan of the 70s punk scene would love this, great way to spend 2 hours.

The tour guide was excellent - really brought alive the various sights and told us the history, hardly any of which I had heard before. Highly recommended.

Interesting and fascinating way to spend a couple of hours round the many points of musical interest around the East Village and the Lower East Side in the company of an knowledgable and enthusiastic guide. I even learnt something - Madonna used to be a drummer! Amazed that CBGBs is now a (very, very!) expensive clothes store. Highly recommended and very enjoyable..

Excellent event!! Interesting, funny & informative guide made the whole event great fun! (He even suggested rearranging due to forecast bad weather a couple of days ahead ... which we did ... and it proved to be a good move!) A good mix of walking (not too far, which seemed to suit everyone) & stops to see interesting sites & listen to annecdotes. Well-sized group (not too big) made it easy to keep close to the guide whilst walking, which made 'chatting' between the stops possible, adding to the event. A useful leaflet was provided afterwards with recommendations for eating/drinking/music venues + a couple of discount vouchers thrown in. Focused mainly on Rock & Punk, but with a couple of sites to do with Blues & Jazz ... something for (almost) everyone. Thoroughly recommended!

Up until now, I had not explored the East Village as much as I wanted to, and after this tour, I can't wait to go back. I'll definitely head for Manitoba's Bar, which was highly recommended by our tour guide. I'll have my nieces with me next time and I'll be able to point out some of the places our guide took us to, especially shopping on St. Mark's Place. Bobby Pinn made the tour informative and fun! You can tell he's really into all the bands and places he mentions.

A great tour ! I would have struggled to find many of these landmarks on my own without the help of the brilliant and enthusiastic Bobby Pinn. The East Village is an area I knew little about, but I will return to explore this area again on future trips. Of course it's a slightly bitter sweet tour as many of the buildings were not designated Landmarks and have changed and not for the better. All the more reason to take this tour ! Ps Try the Egg Creams, they are incredibly refreshing.

In the spirit of the independents, Bobby Pin's tour of the East Side of Manhattan is fully recommended for any fan of alternative music- thanks to his knowledge, see where the Led Zep Physical Graffiti cover was taken, where Warhol hosted his parties, the Fillmore, CBGBs and of course, The Ramones. Brilliant.

We had read the reviews and this walking tour proved to be every bit as interesting as promised. Not only that, we discovered the East Village and enjoyed the rest of the day in this area. Would certainly recommend to anyone with punk / rock interest
