March 1, 2011 Shake, Rattle & Roll

This was the 2nd time we had taken a Segway tour - the 1st being in Utah. Denise (owner & tour guide) was kind enough to reschedule our tour due to inclimate weather. We had a brief refresher course & then on our way. This was our first time visiting Tucson, and was given a very informative tour through the historic / downtown districts & college campus. The helmet speaker system worked great when Denise was telling us of some facts about Tucson. At the end of our tour we had a delicious shake. We had a great time & the Segways are a fun way to get around.

We loved riding the Segways.

We have wanted to try out the Segways for a long time. And this seemed like the way to do it. They were GREAT. Easy to learn - fun to ride - easy to control. Plus Stu gave us a great tour of the old Presidio Trail in downtown Tucson. He kept up a non-intrusive description of the history of the area - mixing in tidbits of architecture with warnings about hazards to us newby Segway riders. Very smoothly done. We liked the tour so much I am sure we will take another Segway tour soon.

Great Tour

This is the second Roll With It tour we have taken. We took the Presidio tour a year ago. We liked both tours. The Shake Rattle and Roll tour covers the historic neighborhoods and University of Arizona and ends with a really great shake at the restaurant next door to Roll With It. Taking these tours is a great way to learn about Tucson.

Truly a Fun Experience

My interest was more in trying out the Segway than seeing the sites. But the sites turned out to be fun, too. I appreciated the detailed training because I tend to be a spazz with this type of thing. I was a bit fearful of going out into traffic but the leader was so experienced, I never even thought about it once we got going. OK, I almost landed in the fountain but was quickly able to recall my training and avoided the disaster. It was a bit more physically tiring that I imagined. We were beat for the rest of the afternoon, and we are in good shape. Two hours was just about right. I definitely would try this again. The morning coffee trip sounds like a winner, before the heat of the day. Thanks for a great Tucson trip memory!

Great Way to See Tucson

This is our second Segway tour (although the first was in a different city) and we enjoyed both tremendously. It's a fantastic way to see any city. In fact, we told friends (who are Tucson residents) about it and they remarked that we saw parts of the city they had never seen before. (As a result, they are planning to take the tour themselves!) Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and very safety conscious. We can't recommend the tour highly enough. Lots of fun!

We were very well instructed before leaving on our tour. The tour was fun with many points of interest and little stories about certain areas. We felt it was just about the right lenght of time for people doing this a first time.

Second time

We were in Tucson only for the weekend (Fri-Mon) and signed up for the Presidio Tour on Sun (weather cancelled it). The owner was nice to reschedule us for Monday even though 2 years ago we had done the Shake Rattle and Roll tour (we really wanted to do the Presidio Tour but weren't opposed to the SRR tour). When we arrived on Mon at 10am, we were the only two and she (the owner) was nice enough to offer if we would like to do the Presidio tour since we had already ridden with her once and in Sept '09 rode the Gen 2's in Washington DC. She did make sure were remembered the basics but within 5-10 mins we were on our way! She did tell us that some on the places we were going to visit would be closed but we could look through the fence (which we were okay with). I do wish the radios worked both ways so we could speak to the guide. We are planning on returning in Oct '10 or Nov '10 and would like to do the "real" Presidio tour then. But we absolutely love the Segway tours. My husband is 6'3" and is not bothered by the "watch out for the low branch" comments since we are usually looking around at what is being talked about. Highly reccommend!!

Our first Segway ride was a blast. It was a birthday surprise for my husband, who has always wanted to try Segwaying. Now he wants to buy one! Our tour guide (company owner) was fun, patient, and gave a thoroughly entertaining tour of Tucson, with many interesting stories. The milkshake at the end was delicious! Would do again in a heartbeat!

Highlight of our vacation!

What a unique method of seeing a city! We did the tour almost a week ago and we're still talking about how much fun it was. The narration was interesting and the route gave us a very good feel for the historic neighbourhoods tucked off of the main routes. We really felt like we were seeing the city through the eyes of a local (rather than feeling very much like tourists) and the milkshake at the end was delicious. The Segway's were very easy to ride and Denise was professional and safe. Would highly recommend this to anyone!!

My husband and I took this tour to learn more about Tucson and to try out segue travel. We loved the tour and learning how to use the segue. The training was just right (not too little, but not too much). The sites we got to see were important to understanding Tucson. We traveled about 5 miles - which is much more than you would get to experience in a normal walking tour. We will go back and do it again - and look for segue tours in other cities.

This was a great tour of Tucson. We were able to see parts of the city that we never would have seen on our own. The Segways were fun to use. The tour guide was terrific.

We were first timers on a Segway...Very user friendly and great location to do it. We enjoyed the Tucson tour and milkshake finish. Our guide showed our group a neat bit of trivia involving prickly pear cactus and the white residue left by a particular type of bug...when mixed w/ a bit of water the white stuff turned bright red. We had fun w/ our daughter later showing her this bit of native lore.
