Rum & Blackbird brings tasters to the hidden mom-and-pop shops that never make it to the Food Network – the real gems of New York City. Founder Moira Campbell takes residents and tourists alike on an unforgettable guided walking tour full of handmade food tastings.
You will sample Druse, Italian, Greek, and Asian cuisine. Moira will lead you through bustling neighborhoods crowded with artisanal bakeries, markets, and authentic restaurants. New York City’s flavor is revealed through culinary exploration and intriguing neighborhood tidbits of speakeasies and dangerous mobsters.
Moira began exploring food in Worcester, Massachusetts. She graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and Clark University. She is a member of the James Beard Foundation’s Greens committee and works with the NYC Wine & Food Festival. She is currently in the Food Studies graduate program at New York University. She can always be found in New York's hottest restaurants, catering small fetes or rescuing vintage cookware.
