Rum & Blackbird Tasting Tours are guided neighborhood culinary walking tours filled with restaurant, bakery, and deli tastings and details about the architecture, history, and cultural and culinary evolution of each neighborhood!
Adventurous tasters are taken to the hidden mom-and-pop shops that never make it to the Food Network – the real gems of Hell's Kitchen in New York City.
In three hours, residents and tourists alike will take an unforgettable whirlwind walking tour complete with handmade food tastings.
Tasters will sample a variety of foods, including:
- Druse cuisine from Israel at Gazala Place
- Authentic Mexican at La Rosita
- Authentic Italian biscotti from Biscotti di Vecchio
- Spicy Latin American specialties from Empanada Mama
- Asian buns at Xie Xie
- Greek pastries prepared with handmade phyllo dough from the 75-year-old Poseidon Bakery
Rum & Blackbird Tasting Tours reveal the flavor of Hell’s Kitchen through culinary exploration as well as through intriguing neighborhood tidbits: the streets teem with little-known stories of a violent past full of speakeasies, gang leaders, and dangerous mobsters.
