Fun and Classy - A Top Manhattan Experience

You can get great skyline views from any boat tour, but on the Schooner America there are no crowds, no standing, no commentary, and no music. You can enjoy the view and being on the water in peace. The staff is friendly and cheerful. The free champagne is tasty and was poured liberally (the crowd enjoyed the drinks, but no one got annoying). The beer selection was very broad and interesting. I had gulped a little at the price, since there were 5 on my tab -- but it was well worth it. I grew up in the NYC area and have visited many times; three of our party live in NYC. It was a very memorable experience even though none of us was new to the city. We are a mix of young and older adults, and everyone was equally enthused. |

My partner and I went on the sunset cruise on a warm evening in August. The crew were fantastic and it was a wonderful way to see Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Statue of Liberty. Oh yes, and the beer was delicious. Highly recommended! |

I saw this as a recommendation from a blog that I read on a consistent basis from a woman who lives in NYC. It was the best decision we made for our short two day trip to the city. It was an incredible way to see the skyline, the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, and across the river. I was amazed at how beautiful a city skyline can look, and it only became more romantic when they shut off the motors and truly sailed. We took some amazing shots of the sun setting next to the Statue. It felt very intimate (only about 20-30 people on board) and was made more romantic with the complimentary drinks. Also, a man near us got to help hoist the sails because he had done some sailing before! The staff was attentive but not annoying, and it was a blast to watch them work.
You can bring a picnic on board, but I suggest eating before. We went to Chelsea Market nearby and I got a delicious lobster roll and my husband ate a slice of pizza. We then walked the High Line Park to Chelsea Piers and made it with plenty of time to hang out near the skate park and in the eatery on the corner.
Overall, I recommend this to locals and visitors both, as it was truly spectacular. I would do it again in a heartbeat. |

From the time we stepped on the America 2.0, sunset cruise, the experience was incredible. The staff of the America 2.0 made the trip most enjoyable. The views were incredible - so peaceful. I went on the schooner with my 20 yr old son & he enjoyed it just as much as I did. There were only 20 people on our tour, so it was not like one of those overcrowded ferry tours. After much sightseeing in the bustling city, this tour was a much needed relaxing night. This was my favorite part of our trip to NYC. |

This boat ride is one of my favorite things to do with a group of friends or with guests from out of town. There is nothing like being on a beautiful boat and seeing Manhattan from the water. The staff is always very attentive and friendly. |

My mother comes to town usually once a year and she's been enough times that we have pretty much done all of the tourist "must dos." This trip, she wanted to do a cruise around Manhattan. I did my research and found your line recommended through NY Mag. I was booked on the smaller boat and a nice lady called the day of and upgraded us which was wonderful. I usually suffer through tours with her but this was a true delight. The boat was beautiful and we had an amazing summer breeze and sunset. The heavy-handed champagne pours and friendly crew definitely made it all worthwhile. I would go again with friends in the city. I think I had the equivalent of $80.00 of drinks when you consider New York City prices. The view was a bonus. |

... although recommended by friends we did not expect this Sunset Sail to be SO amazing and relaxing. The Americana 2.0 crew was so thoughtful & funny, their boat absolutely one of the most beautiful sail boats on the Hudson and the play of sunset light an exciting experience. Highly recommended for an relaxing summer night out and to enjoy the stunning NYC skyline! |
