My wife and I are from Philadelphia, and come to the City often. This was, by far, the most informative tour we ever have experienced. The boat itself (the 1920's style commuter) was very classy, comfortable and not crowded, which added to the value of the experience. The crew was most helpful.
The docent's architectural knowledge was truly impressive and pivotal in making the tour so informative.
I highly recommend this tour to all my friends and associates. |

Whether you are a native of New York, or from out of town, this tour is a delightful and informative way of learning more about this wonderful City, from the waterfront where a larger picture unfolds. Our tour guide as a member of the board of the NY Chapter / AIA knew his stuff very well, yet was conversational, knowledgeable, humorous and altogether easy to listen to and learn from. I went on this tour because I'd never been on a tour like this despite my over 35 years here. The ship, the Manhattan, and her crew were professional, attentive and altogether a great group to be with.Couldn't say enough good things about this tour! |

Get in line early and get seat facing the skyline

Unlike, say a foliage tour, it's important to be facing the skyline, otherwise you are craning your neck the whole way (2:45 minutes of it). We were there early, and the deck steward said we could sit wherever we wanted, but moved us from the area we had chosen (said it was roped off), by which time the prime seats were all gone. |
