Seller Description:
If you are in to comfortable cruising or the Gilded Era of Yachting, be sure to experience our 1920’s style “commuter” yacht, Manhattan.

She was built here in the state of New York by Scarano Boat Building in 2005 and is currently the only non-sailing yacht in our Classic Harbor Line fleet. We take great pride in her New York heritage and we additionally take great pride in serving the very best of New York beers, wines, cheeses, produce & famous local bakery aboard her decks.

Edible Manhattan wrote that we are “Not Your Mother’s Circle Line”. We strive to surpass any “tourist” expectations of what a “harbor cruise” entails: we include a “Taste of NY” in our menus, maintain an unprecedented level of hospitality and we do so aboard a special, beautiful, intimate yacht built by NY craftsmen.

Classically-lined & comfortable with teak decks and mahogany rails, she can accommodate up to 50 for dinner & 75 for passed hors d’ oeuvres. She features an enclosed, cushioned observatory surrounded by large windows & skylights. She is equipped for all weather with a/c & heating and thus operates comfortably from early spring through New Year’s Day.

Activity Description
Climb aboard the luxury yacht Manhattan for Battle Week 2009! Celebrate the Hudson River Quaricentennial and learn about the river's central role in the American Revolution.  Join the historian and "Battle for New York" author Barnet Schecter as he hosts and narrates this in-depth journey through the Battle of Brooklyn that New York experienced during the Revolutionary War.

On this 2-hour cruise you will:

  • Explore the mouth of the river where Henry Hudson arrived in 1609, searching for a passage to China.
  • Imagine yourself aboard the Halve Maen (Henry Hudson's ship) seeing New York's shores in the primeval state.
  • Relive the largest battle of the Revolution, which was also the first battle in United States History
  • Listen to stories of Washington's astonishing retreat across the East River as you follow in his footsteps
  • Learn how the British lost their best chance to win the Revolution at a stroke, right here in Brooklyn
  • Get one-of-a-kind views of Denys's Ferry, the Gowanus Heights, and the Buttermilk Channel all from the water
Ticket price includes passage, the lecture, one free beverage from the bar and hors d' oeuvres. Additional beverages and Mr. Schecter's books will be available for sale and signing.

Find yourself basking in the comfortable elegance of this teak and mahogany-trimmed, 1920s-style vessel, with plenty of climate-controlled seating and a crew known for their hospitality.
