This was a perfect day!

The crew was terrific, the other passengers were very nice, the boat was adorable, and since the weather was unbearably hot, it was a perfect place to be. We will probably try some of their other activities as the company seems to be very well-run and the staff on the boat made sure everyone was happy.

Up a lazy river to Bear Mountain

Had a thoroughly enjoyable outing to Bear Mountain, which I would recommend to anyone looking to do something a little out of the ordinary while visiting New York City. Especially if you have 'done' the main attractions and have time to devote a full day to this trip. It was a perfect way to beat the heat, and the cruise up the Hudson was a delight. I've written an extensive review for my blog so I won't repeat myself here, except to say, Go if you have the time, and if you enjoy long, leisurely cruising.

Relaxation, sunshine and service with a smile!

A gorgeous yacht. Sunshine. Service with a smile from Captain Jim and his crew make this a really lovely and relaxing cruise up the Hudson. Bear Mountain park is great to wander around, go for a paddle on the lake or swim in chlorinated pool nestled in between the cliffs. The highlight really was the cruising up and back on the yacht in glorious sunshine. Even my friends 10 year old daughter loved it and put down her iPod long enough to enjoy the view! Overall a great day out - I would do it again.

A Wonderful Cruise!

Though built a few years ago, in style the Manhattan is the kind of boat that, in the Jazz Age, Gatsby might have taken some of his friends aboard on a trip to some estate up the Hudson or on Long Island. A sleek, almost sailboat shape, beautiful teak decks, a wonderful interior lounge with seat cushions and a Persian rug, great views from the lounge and on deck, friendly staff, great food and wine, time enough to hike a bit at Bear Mountain, a great day trip!

Fun Experience

The boat left on time. The entire crew was GREAT. The food was great. I would have had the best time of my life if it wasn't raining heavily the entire time but this is mother natures fault. I loved this trip. Will do it again.

Wonderful ride to Bear Mountain

My husband and I had not been on a boat trip to Bear Mountain since our childhood. This was not the same. It was NOT a crowded trip with hundreds of people. It was an informal group of about 16 people. The served us a delicious brunch with coffee and Bloody Mary, Mimosa or whatever. If we wanted a glass of water with ice, it would be brought to our table. There wwere bagels with lox, cream cheese, onion, muffins, dainty french pastries, waffles with maple syrup, whipped cream, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries, a vegetable quiche and turkey sausages. We spent 3 hours at Bear Mountain. It would have been better had it not rained. We all came prepared with umbrellas. We had a barbecue meal on the ride home. It was tastefully prepared and served. Hamburger, hot dogs, delicious potato salads and coleslaw (not the kind you get in a box at the supermarket.. There were pastries, muffins, tea, coffee, and drinks. One drink with alcohol was free at each meal. When we thought we could not eat anymore, out came delicious cookies (the homemade kind) fruits and coffee and tea. It was a splendid day. The captain, crew, and servers went out of their way to make this a great time.

So much more than we expected. The attention aboard and the foods served were first class. We never expected the quality of service and food aboard that we received. Three hours on The Mountain proved that there is more to see on another excursion. Thank you for a fine day. We'll be bach.

It was just what it claimed to be and a lovely trip on a very nice and comfortable boat. The staff was excellent, personable, helpful and attentive with out being fawning or obsequious. The food is not a gourmet experience, and does not claim to be, but is perfectly appropriate and enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend this trip and this company for those who like this type of outing. It was a pleasure.

A terrific way to see the majestic Hudson, like in the old days, when they had the Dayliner. The ship is clean and elegant. The food was abundant and good... except for the pastries which were stale. For Hudson enthusiasts, having a book or printed map on the sights of the Hudson ( as the Dayliner provided) would be worth it. Lastly, I really think that West Point should be included too, and I am sad that it is not. 3 hours on Bear Mountain is a bit much. Seeing impressive West Point would have been the crowning glory and it can be done within the 9 hour period if the ship goes a bit faster.
