Your Host for this summer sail is Ian Phillips, Beer Ambassador of the Chelsea Brewing Company. He is following his passion to work with what he loves! Ian left working in the TV entertainment industry to immerse himself in beer. Working full time for the Chelsea Brewing Company, Ian has given hundreds of people brewery tours and taught them the magic of how this wonderful beverage is brewed. Ian also has experience with beer and food pairing, the practice of “Beer blending” and home brewing. The one thing Ian prides himself in is his ability to make understanding the brewing process easy, entertaining and most importantly, fun. Because seriously, isn’t that what beer is supposed to be about? We hope you enjoy your tour with Ian!<!--[endif]-->
The fastest resident sail vessels in the New York Harbor are the Schooners Adirondack and Imagine. They held the record finishes in the Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race for 14 consecutive seasons (1994 - 2007). Though they are light and lively sailing vessels, they are also quite comfortable, with ample deck space and seating for up to 49. They were built and designed for taking groups of people on spectacular sightsailing adventures by Scarano Boatbuilding of Albany, NY.
They are operated by Coast Guard certified captains and extremely friendly and talented crew.

Activity Description
Join us for our NY State Beer and Cheese Pairing Sail formerly known as the Art of Beer and Cheese Pairing event, which will be an adventurous 2-hour event aboard one of our classic pilot schooners!! As you sail aboard one of these beautiful vessels through New York Harbor you will be educated about 4-5 different beers paired with 4-5 New York State Cheeses!
This 2 hour event includes:
- A 2-hour sail aboard a classic schooner sailboat
- 4-5 custom-made New York State craft brews, as they are expertly paired with 4-5 specially chosen New York State cheeses to match.
- A special guest host from the local brewery to share insight and history on their specialty craft beers.
- Exquisite views from the Hudson River and New York Harbor
Some of the sites you'll see along along the way will include the New York City skyline, Battery Park, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty.
Sit back and relax as our crew serves you and you take in the views of Manhattan while tasting some NY State's best brews and cheeses at sunset!
What Is Not Included?
Gratuity is not included in the price of your sail. Parties of 12 or more will be contacted shortly after purchasing tickets to provide credit card information for an additional charge of 18% gratuity.
