Fall Foliage Schooner Sail

Good time unfortunate weather.

Myself and a group of 3 friends took the fall foliage sail on the Adirondack II. I grew up on sailboats, and this is my second trip on the Adirondack boats. It's always a comforting homey thing for me, and I try to go once a year. As per always, the crew was fabulous, the captain knowledgeable, the ship a thing of beauty. And the weather was gorgeous. The ability to have a nice relaxing calm ride right out of NYC is just so...wonderful!

To put it simply, the sail was amazing. The crew was very friendly and offered everyone blankets as soon as we got on board. They gave us a brief history on the ship and the sail, and we set off. Once we got a little ways up, they began distributing drinks, which consisted of beers, wine, champagne, sodas and water. It was not a booze cruise, but the drinks were flowing, and all inclusive. The views of Manhattan and the Palisades area were amazing. I would recommend going early fall as opposed to later in the season for two reasons, warmth and foliage color. If you are in the area, highly recommended.

Crew was friendly and attentive. The boat was really nice. Food was excellent and the drinks flowed. Recommend for a date or for group of couples.

The staff was amazing. The food was great and the views amazing. This is a smaller vessel that did not make you feel you were part of a cattle call. Everyone was polite and fun. I would recommend this tour to all my visiting friends.

What a wonderful afternoon spent on a beautiful sailboat on the Hudson River. While the trees were not too cooperative and were still pretty green, it did not matter at all. The views of New York were some of the best you will see, too many great photo opportunities to count. It was not a crowded party cruise, but a nice day out. The crew were the best and really made our sail fun and comfortable. The wind was chilly and there were plenty of warm blankets for everyone. The lunch was very good and there was a great selection of beverages. We brought our six year old son and the crew were very welcoming to him and really included him in what they were doing. He loved it all and the four hours passed quickly and he was sad when it was time to dock. It was relaxing, peaceful and one of the most enjoyable things we have done in some time. We will definitely take another sailing cruise with Classic Harbor Line.

I totally enjoyed the cruise and wold do it again. It was a bit too early for the fall foliage but a beautiful day nonetheless. The champaigne was plentiful, good quality box lunch and enough blankets to keep everyone warm.

while the trip was great, the air was up and the crew was both great and truly professional. we were a bit disappointed at the end. we left late and so i asked the woman in the ticket booth if they would be adding on the difference and she said yes. but actually we ended up dropping the sails early and motoring the rest of the way to get us back by the original time, cutting the trip short. other than this it was great!!

very nice experience, nice crew, and fun way to spend an afternoon - magnificent landscape and great pictures.

We just experienced a lovely day on the Adirondack III. For those looking for relaxation, fantastic views, great lunch, nice drink choices (especially the hot chocolate with Jim Bean), a chance to catch up with friends or spouse this is the trip for you. I had done the Newport, Rhode Island harbor sail this summer and thought it would be an excellent day trip for my girlfriends in NYC.
