Seller Description:
The fastest resident sail vessels in the New York Harbor are the Schooners Adirondack and Imagine.  They held the record  finishes in the Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race for 14 consecutive seasons (1994 - 2007).  Though they are light and lively sailing vessels, they are also quite comfortable, with ample deck space and seating for up to 49. They were built and designed for taking groups of people on spectacular sightsailing adventures by Scarano Boatbuilding of Albany, NY.
They are operated by Coast Guard certified captains and extremely friendly and talented crew.

Sailing these schooners is an absolute honor and a privilege. They move through the water so efficiently and beautifully, we take great pride in sharing them with you. Known for their amazing hospitality, our staff is all professionally trained and experienced on sailing our vessels well and safely. Do not hesitate to ask our crew about the boat or any of the NYC sites.

Activity Description
In 1609, Manhattan was an island covered in trees, small rivers, wild animals & a small Native American population. During that year, the Dutch explorer, Henry Hudson, first navigated through the Narrows into NY Harbor and up the entire Hudson River. This year we celebrate the Quadricentennial of that epic journey. On June 6, a flotilla of hundreds of vessels begins a re-enactment of Hudson's journey.

Grab your thermos and fill it with coffee! Pack your own picnic and snacks for the day and sail with us as we join hundreds of other vessels on the Hudson River! We will have complimentary beer, wine, and champagne for you! So kick back and relax and join us.

On this 5.5 hour cruise, you will cruise from Lower Manhattan to Tarrytown alongside a fleet of hundreds of other vessels. The Adirondack will then return to Chelsea Piers.

From the decks of this 1890 pilot Schooner take in the views of :

  • The entire west side of the New York City skyline
  • Battery Park and the Financial District
  • The majestic Palisades Park: Steep cliffs carved by prehistoric glaciers that make up the east bank of the Hudson River.
  • The George Washington and Tappan Zee Bridges as we pass underneath.
  • A replica of Henry Hudson's Half Moon (The vessel he first used to to navigate the Hudson) along with hundreds and potentially thousands of other vessels.
So hop aboard this 80 foot Schooner, Adirondack, to take part in this 400 year celebration!
