Couple on a Date |
| My husband has lived in NYC for 4 years. I travel from Detroit a few times every month to see him. We have a few regular hang-outs, but also enjoy finding new things to do.
His 30th B-Day was coming up and since we both love being on the water, I looked up some of those dinner cruises. One had several reviews stating that the food was awful, and another with reviews saying that guests were left behind because they failed to dress properly.
I kept searching and found the City Lights Sail on the Schooner Adirondack. I liked that there were a lot of large pictures on the web site. The price was very reasonable, and I was excited that we were going to be on a boat that actually had sails and we would be sitting so close to the water with an OPEN view, not crowded into some enclosed floating restaurant!
So, on his B-Day we go to a restaurant that I found on City Search called the Blue Water Grill, it's on Union Square West, close to 14th St. and 5th Ave. The seafood there was fabulous and then we took a taxi from there right over to Pier 59, about a 5 minute drive.
At first my husband looked surprised when he saw the boat because it's a lot different than the yacht and ferrys that you see around there. But once on board, you realize that every seat has a great view and it's a small crowd of about 40 people.
As soon as we headed out, drinks were brought out and the crew was very hospitable. The views of JC, NYC, and the Statue of Libery were wonderful. We also had a beautiful moon that night, it was large and red and just peeking in and out of the skyline. This was our first time on a boat with sails so it was interesting to watch the crew as they worked the sails.
So my point is, we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend it to others. If I had to throw something into the trip, I'd say that it would be cool to sail over to the Brooklyn Bridge, but that would probably make the trip a lot longer than 2 hours.
If you go I wish your experience is as great as ours!!! |

| My wife and I took the city lights schooner cruise recently as a date. The captain and crew were terrific, and theviews of the city and harbor were suitably spectacular. The only problem was that the ship was terribly overcrowded. There was no room to move around, and the seating was limited and not particularly comfortable. Still, with enough champagne, it didn't really matter.

| My boyfriend and I live here in New York and were looking for something different to do on a nice Summer evening. We got tickets at the last minute on the Adirondack for the 8:30 sail. The sail around lower Manhattan is so breath taking at night. After living in New York for over 15 years, the view still gives me goose bumps. The captain and staff were fantastic! They were very knowledge about the area and extremely friendly. We were served drinks and snacks throughout the evening which was great. A lot of times you read how drinks are served but you only get one or two drinks. This was a constant flow throughout the evening.
Our overall rating for the experience is 5 stars!

| It was very nice trip, The boat was comfortable and the crew was exceptional. I did feel that the boat was a bit over crowded. The trip provided a wonderful view of the city and the Statue of Liberty. I would love to take another trip aboard the Schooner Aderondack. |

| I surprised my boyfriend for our 1 year anniversary and this sail was by far one of the best dates we ever had. The city at night from the Hudson River was amazing, the crew was very friendly, and the whole trip was very romantic. Highly Recommended for a peaceful night out of Manhattan!! |

| All reviews that I read were true and even more than expected! Just pick a perfect weather day before purchasing. City lights in July, we were able to catch the end of the sunset and then sail on a beautiful evening with good wind sails.
Recommend for any occasion! |
