| New York is busy, busy, busy and this is a WONDERFUL thing to do after a long busy day. We took the city lights cruise. I would suggest if you have younger children to do the earlier cruise. My 10 year old fell asleep toward the end, which was VERY explainable beings we walked and walked all day long. The cruise was from 9:30 to 11:30, so she fell asleep about 10:45ish (DUH!, WHAT'D YA THINK WAS GONNA HAPPEN). It is also a nice place to be if you are a social butterfly. You will meet fun and energetic people. We had a Bachelorette Party on our cruise -- what a GREAT idea!! That would be a GREAT way to start the evening! I can't really say too much more other than it was VERY RELAXING! GO FOR IT!! |

| Ahoy!
We found the boat squared away and the skipper and crew first rate, no nubs or rickeys on board. The bilge juice served was also first rate (though the wine, a little less so) and the cruise was just the right length of time. Being served drinks by a pair of gobs who just hoisted all that heavy canvas aloft put me in mind of a skate. Thankfully, their cheerful performance of scullery duties saved me from feeling L.W.S.
(As a New Yorker, I realize the tourists want to get close to the Statue of Liberty. I would love to go under the Brooklyn Bridge under sail! That would be awesome. To come up the East River with no sound but the pinging of the boom when she swings round in Wallabout Bay!!! The crew could lower her sails to honor the Prison Ship dead buried under the newly restored Fort Green column. Oh, but there's probably a USCG restriction on such things. Too bad. And the lengthening of the cruise would probably mean balls to the wall back to the barn and that wouldn't be any fun.)
Before I shove off, I want to repeat what a great time it was for the two of us. Wonderful night, great weather (after 5 weeks of rain!) and such nice, friendly people. Well worth it. I would recommend it to any one looking for a different night out or visitors who've done NY's "must see" sights and are ready for a change.
Bravo Zulu, Sailors!

| The crew was very nice and friendly. Sadly, the schooner does not go up the East River so you can't get a good view of the Brooklyn Bridge, Sea Port and other beautiful places |

The Hudson River at night was breathtaking.

| My wife and i had a fabulous outing! Weather looked suspect for the evening, yet turned perfect. Unknown to us until embarkation, we were two of only 5 people (out of a complement of 49 available slots) ;who signed up for this 8:30 -10:30PM Saturday night cruise; notwithstanding, the Adirondack (with its marvelous crew of 3) honored our reservations and treated us to our own personal tour. The sights were awesome, right up through our rendezvous with the Statue of Liberty ... so imposing, so breathtaking.
The crew were friendly, knowledgeable of the surroundings, and thoroughly entertaining and easy to be with for 2 hours out on the Hudson. We even caught 30-40 minute of fireworks from the Brooklyn piers, which just added to our spectacular evening. We hated to return to the docks; but it was a total "High," and we would recommend this very affordable evening cruise to anyone. The cruise runs several times/ day; but I do believe the evening is a highlight withe all of the dazzling lights of the city and the NJ shore just there to "make your day" unique and complete. But do dress warmly, season-related. |

| I really enjoyed the city lights tour. My boyfriend and I did this as part of a birthday surprise for him. The sailboat was very roomy and comfortable. The staff provided blankets to keep you warm, as it does get quite cold and windy at night. One of the crew even went out of his way to notice I was still chilly and provided me with an extra blanket. They served three rounds of complementary drinks which I thought was generous considering it was only a two hour tour. Overall, everyone was very friendly and the sites we saw were very nice. The Statue of Liberty is beautiful to see from the water at night. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for something different and inexpensive to do in NYC. |
