Full Moon Sail on the Schooner Adirondack

My 25 year old son and I went on the Full Moon Sail and loved it! We were both apprehensive as we were worried we might get sick.... Not a chance! It was smooth sailing the whole way. It rocked so gently that I wished I could have just layed down and been lulled to sleep! The city with the lights was spectacular. The buildings and light in the windows made the city look like a city of mosaic tiles. Unbelievable! The Crew were great! They were very personable and attentive. Beer and wine served was plentiful. I visit the city quite a few times each year and will put this on my list as a MUST to do whenever I get the opportunity. Thank you.

I have been trying to come up with adjectives to describe this sail and nothing sems to suffice. First of all there were only 8 people on our ride, and I was worried they might cancel but they did not. My husband I were on a vacation together, we live in Austin but I gew up in new Jersey so it was kind of a nostalgic trip for me. After listening to the captain give a brief overview and safety chat we were allowed to move up to the front of the boat and just sit quietly together and sip our wine. I couldn't believe that we were sitting out there in the middle of the Hudson floating in front of the Statue of Liberty all lit up, just gazing at her. It was so peaceful and surreal. Those adjectives will have to suffice.

I have done this cruise now a couple times-once on the yacht and once on the sailboat. Each has their own unique pluses. I prefer the yacht to be to go inside but on a nice night, sitting out on the sailboat is great fun. The yacht has more comfortable seating and is easier for eating and drinking. I have done this as a local with my husband as well as with out-of-town guests. It is a fun, relaxing way to see the city from a different prespective. We chose to do this on 9-11 this year to see the view of the lights of the twin towers which was really special. The price is right, especially with drinks included, and I recommend it wholeheartedly.

I loved it so much that my two sisters and spouses have booked a trip in August. What a great way of viewing the city at night. A definite must do.

Perect way to get away from the craziness of nyc without going too far. Full moon feature just added to the ambience. Crew did a good job keeping everyone happy.

Everything is real nice about this trip: Boat is very clean. Check-in is simple, just grab your boarding pass and walk on 20-minutes before the boat pushes off. Captain and crew are outgoing and helpful. We sat near the bow and enjoyed a quiet conversation and great views. There are very few places you can go on a date in NYC and not hear a siren, car horn or someone chatting on his/her cell phone. 2-hrs of silence on the water is worth every penny.

Sailing on the Hudson of moonshine - what more to ask fore? Maybe drinking champagne with the Statue of Liberty - or just close to her. What we did! Authentic atmosphere with real skipper and crew. Nice for family with children - we all enjoyed the trip.

The crew was great. The views were beautiful. I would definitely recommend it as a nice place to take a date.

The moonlight cruise is a unique experience. Of course it depends on a clear sky, which we had. There was not as much wind to allow sailing as the captain would have liked but who cares. The crew was great. The beverages kept flowing and they were attentive to our comfort. The view of the Statue of Liberty at night was worth the whole trip. Definitely something to do on a trip to NYC.

My sister and I truly enjoyed the cruise that we took in NYC. The staff on the ship was very friendly and helpful. If we asked them a question about the area, they we knowledgeable about it. It would have been nice if they could have turned the engine off during part of the cruise to make it even more quiet. a better choice of sodas would have been a added point.
