Great way to spend an evening together for a birthday, anniversary, date. We included it as an interlude between dinner and an evening of partying. Friendly crew and fellow passengers weren't too rowdy so you could be with yourselves or join the crowd.

lovely evening

We had a lovely evening. Our captain and crew were attentive, professional and fun. The boat was roomy and classy. The winds were calm so we had to travel under power for a good part of the time (which obviously the crew had no contol over) but the motor was quiet and with the main sail up we still had a bit of a sensation of being under sail. It was just a fun, great night due to the competent and very pleasant crew and beautiful, old boat.

We could have been clinging to a life raft - the conditions, weather, moonlight, cloud cover, the 9-11 memorial lights - all perfect - but the crew and beverage supply, and other pasengers - added to the evenings success.

A Highlight of our Trip!

My husband and I took the full moon cruise at the beginning of May. We had a fantastic time. The views of the city and the statue were unbelievable and will always be part of a very memorable experience. It was our first time in NYC and our last evening there and we wanted to do something special. The crew was very friendly, waiting on us with drinks and providing blankets when we were cold. I definitely recommend it!

A very pleasant ride

As advertised. The full moon sail, did not have much moon (they cannot control the clouds) but we did set-out with a great sunset. It is a very low-key expereince. The crew provided amples rounds of drinks. The high-point was the unfurling of the sails and turning off the engines so that we were just uner wind-power. Sailing just up to the lit-up Statue of Liberty is the highlight of the sail--hard not to get a little choked up as you have just passed Ellis Island.

A must-do activity in New York City!

My husband and I were thrilled with our full moon sail. After a long day of walking around the city, it was wonderful to sit down on a beautiful sail boat and take in the sights from the water. The crew was friendly and informative and we had plenty of hot cider and champagne to drink while sailing past lower Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. There were plenty of other folks enjoying the evening with us on the ship but we were able to find a quiet spot when we wanted one. I highly recommend this activity to anyone visiting the city, whether for the first time, like me, or for the 10th time like my husband!

Great idea for a chilled out night

I first feared that this activity will be too touristy and tacky, but I took the risk as the concept is great. I took my fiancy for his birthday and it turned out to be a great thing to do to chill and chat with each other. The group was great and no one was too loud and everyone was friendly. The service was fairly subtile and we were totally relaxed. It waqs definitely a full success. Thank you

Relaxing full moon cruise

We had done the 1/2 island cruise on a full moon night about 7 years ago and wanted to try something different. This was a relaxing couple of hours that would have been better only if there was wind for sailing. We had the motor running all but about 5 minutes of the 2 hours. The crew was very professional and very attentive. They brought beer, wine and soft drinks as promised and even a few blankets as the nite chill arrived. The perspective is much different and even more breathtaking in the Schooner. The city lights from both M'hattan and Jersey were right on top of us and the Statue of Liberty as always is inspiring. We recommend this for a unique look at NYC and New Jersey. We will be looking for Adorondack II in Key West this winter.

It was a full moon for the Moonlight Sail
Wed, Aug 5  8:30 PM Sailorboy Female 60-69 Local Group of Friends
Everything ran smoothly from first to last. The trip boarded and left on time. The moon was as big and orange as a huge cheddar cheese. The drinks were served; the sails were raised and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this quiet, lovely sail up to Miss Liberty and back. A good time was had by all.
