Day Sail on Schooners Adirondack

I have sailed on the Adirondack and the Imagine several times. Each occasion was a great event. The captain(s) and the crew(s) appear to be very competent and work very hard to ensure that all passengers enjoy the sail. (This past Sunday our captain was Julian, and our party of four felt very confident in his ability to afford us a safe, happy sailing experience.) I feel that if more people knew about the sailing vessels from the Chelsea Piers, more passengers would be sailing. I initially found out about the ships from my own personal searching on the Internet for sailboats from Manhattan. I have never seen an advertisement describing the sails; more publicity would be valuable.

...than this! A beautiful boat, very friendly crew, and a few drinks in the sun - what more could you ask for. I'd love to go again as it's almost a little holiday in its own right. Highly recommended.

I came in a group of 5, and we had a great time. We had great sun and wind, so the day was perfect. It was a bit chilly out on the water, so dress appropriately. The staff was super fun and friendly, and we felt very well taken care of for only $40! I've lived in NYC for 2 years now, and this is on the top 10-20 events I would recommend to anyone. Sign up on a sunny day and enjoy!

My 21 year old son and I had a wonderful time aboard the Adirondack Schooner. He is in from college in Boston, and I made this the centerpiece of a New York City day. Everything was perfect, from the tee shirts I ordered for us to the experience on the water. My son told me this was the best part of a day that included Breakfast at Pastis, a walk on the Chelsea Highline, a film, dinner and a long-running Broadway play. This speaks volumes in and of itself. He described the voyage as relaxing. In addition to the beautiful views, the Captain and the rest of the crew (as well as Dorothy at the ticket office) could not have been nicer. Most beverages were included in the price and the crew was generous with servings. I have never been treated better than I was on this trip.

Well managed, knowledgeable staff. Unfortunately, I booked cruise for my family (which included a young child) and upon reassessing the boat, excessive heat during the day..we decided it was ill advised. However when I first called and inquired..I was told that this was not an issue. I think there should be better instructions on line and with booking dept regarding children under 5 years of age..dangers/precautions etc. Staff was extremely helpful at the site and did state I would be receiving an online credit for the passengers who were unable to sail with us. Hope to receive that soon and have them reschedule w/o the young child. Thank you.

I highly recommend this trip. It was relaxing yet exciting. The crew were very nice and attentive to us and I enjoyed watching them at work. I would do this again in a heartbeat!!

Great way to spend two hours.

This is a nice afternoon activity. Great service.

Relaxing way to see the city skyline. Cocktails were included and were served by a very friendly crew. Plus they did not push the tipping thing.
