Good sail. Beautiful weather. But the Captain misjudged the time it would take to sail to the Statue of Liberty and the the Waterfalls... so, in the end, we were just making circles in front of Chelsea Piers for like 25 minutes.... He was so afraid of not getting back on time I guess.

We had a perfect day for sailing, a little windy and very sunny. There were a lot of other boats on the water, including cruise ships, but we successfully navigated around them and right past the Statue of Liberty. I loved that there was no cheesey music and no lame talking from the crew. It was very relaxing and fun! The ad said beer and wine but it was only beer.

The sail was okay and reasonably priced. The crew are very friendly and pleasant, we had a beautiful day, and maybe I expected too much. But it was pretty much like, we sailed out, cruised past the Statue of Liberty, and sailed back in. I was sitting towards the front of the boat so maybe I missed some stuff going on in the cockpit or something, but I didn't hear much in the way of descriptions of what we were seeing or the actual work of sailing the boat. We took some hard turns which were scary for my girlfriend, although I enjoyed it. She also got sprayed pretty good with some water over the bow, so if you're not into that sit towards the back. We were also sitting near two couples with a bunch of loud and unruly kids, so that also detracted from the experience. I would recommend this for out-of-town tourists because there are some great views of the city from the water, but if you're local you probably won't be overly thrilled with it.

This is the third time my family and friends have sailed on the Schooner Adirondack and I can't recommend it enough. My aunt (native New Yorker) turned us onto this hidden gem and we can't get enough of it. It is a wonderful way for tourists to get a different perspective of the city. The crew is wonderful, always answering questions and generally seeming interested in chatting with guests. It is a cheap, fun excursion, I would suggest it to anyone visiting the city!

I was a passenger on "The Manhattan" cruise around the island last fall. That trip was fabulous because of the boat, the food, and the 'Cook's Tour.' The Adirondak trip this past weekend offered a very different type of experience. I was on the water bobbing and rocking with the tide and the wind and Manhattan and Hoboken were very far away. I felt very nautical like Captain Kate said I would. I realize the crew had to be vigilant about our sail but I wished they could offer more discussion about what they were doing and why - coming about, etc. They did answer such questions when they could. They were a funny, respectful, and professional team - I really wish I could have helped them out.

We had a wonderful time aboard Imagine. The crew were knowledgeable and very accommodating. While there weren't lots of other families aboard, we found it to be a wonderful outing for our family of four.

Had a great time on board. The trip was interesting. Had perfect weather. The crew was friendly and continued to serve refreshments and answer questions. Will return again to bring more friends. So glad I discovered this site.

This is a great way to see the skyline from the Hudson, with Liberty and Ellis Island as well. The boat was clean. 35 passengers made it very uncrowded. The crew of three were both knowledgable and courteous. At $40.00, this is a real bargain. We will definetly do this again on our next visit to NYC.
