Cancelled

We booked a trip for our anniversary. We called ahead on our way out the door to clarify directions and the man said that the cruise had been cancelled for awhile now. He said that it was because another group had cancelled. We were very upset (given it was our anniversary). Thank you, Ashley Newberry

I went on this trip with a small group of friends and my wife. The weather was great; the crew very professional, friendly and informative; the lunch was tasty; and the service impressive (especially navigating the deck with out loosing their balance). Of course the schooner itself was beautiful.

Weather made the trip unenjoyable.

Next time there is a Nor’easter I wouldn't recommend sailing. My fiancé and I are not wimps but we did not enjoy this trip it was way too windy and cold. There wasn't really much change to the trees so that was also a bit disappointing. The food was very good, the staff was very nice. The weather just didn't make for a good trip over all. It's too bad because we were really excited about going, and I paid a lot of money for it.

Didn't go far enough up the Hudson; too slow
Sun, Oct 29, 06   11:00 AM pollypinocle Female 30-39 Local Couple on a Date
It certainly wasn't anybody's fault that it ended up being extremely blustery and chilly, and therefore a terrible day for a sail. It also fell short of being a nice "fall foliage" sail, as none of the trees had changed yet. But for a 4-hour cruise, I had expected that we'd sail further up the Hudson (where I imagine there was more foliage). We only made it just past the George Wash bridge (big whoop). I also thought it'd be a more "exciting" sail (read: fast), but we just plodded along (the Circle Line goes faster). On the plus side, the (surprisingly young) crew were very friendly and attentive, and served a tasty lunch and many rounds of hot cider (we sure needed it!). For me, the experience didn't justify the price. I made the mistake of buying tickets weeks in advance, thinking they'd sell out. There were still tickets left when we showed up in the morning. If we could have gotten a refund before setting sail, we would have.

It was our second trip and it was fabulous. It was a chilly fall day and the leaves were beautiful. It was warm inside the cabin of the motoryacht and the brunch was delicious while we sailed up the Hudson. We're planning our next trip.

Too cold, not much foliage, great crew!

I took the 2 hour sail boat cruise in the summer and enjoyed it. So I signed up for the Fall foliage cruise. I expected that we may be getting off the boat and doing some leaf peaking, but that didnt happen. The foliage was nothing special and we were too far from the palisades anyway to get good views It was too cold, and therefore too long and I wanted to get off halfway if I could have. The water splashing in on us didnt help, since we were frozen to the bone anyway. The sailing itself though was great, the captain was very good and the crew was gracious and friendly. The light lunch was nice as was the cider. But next time, I will stick with the 2 hour summer cruise!

Enjoyable Fall cruise

We thought we might be disappointed because we were so looking forward to sailing on the schooner. The weather prevented that for us, so we took the yacht. We found that it was very comfortable. The food was very good and the staff extremely friendly and courteous. We highly recommend this fall foliage excursion.

Crew members very friendly. Lovely views. Amazing experience. One black mark - It was very hard to find where the sail boat was taking off from. It is not very well sign posted..... Once we found the people though it was fantastic..

We had a great time. The boat is beautiful and the crew very nice. It is so silent and intimate, nothing to do with those big noisy yatchts!!!! . Highly recommended.

Best 100 dollars I've ever spent

The schooner sunset cruise was well worth the money & I've recommended it to everyone I know. I took my husband on this cruise for his birthday & he LOVED it. We were 2 of only 6 people (excluding staff) on the boat. It did last for 2 hours and since it was late October it was cold.... but we had plenty of blankets & we all agreed that the cold weather actually added to the adventure. I wouldn't go this late in the season if you don't want to get close to the person you're with- since body heat really did keep us warm!! Stop reading reviews & book it already- you will have a great time.

I had no idea that it would be only 2 couples. My girlfriend and I felt like it was a personal cruise on my own yacht. The food was great and the entire evening was like I had won the lotto and I didn't want to wake up. I will and all ready have recommended this trip to those who don't have yachts or boats. This " ain't" your typical circle line with hot dogs. And yes, I would do it again, but when its warmer and maybe during the day. thank you.

I was one of eight Southern women to visit NY City recently. Our ages ranged from 39 to 50 something. Some had been to NY before, some had not. For those of us who did not want to face the "maddening crowd" on the normal Statue of Liberty tours, we decided we needed to see the beautiful Lady from sail boat. We took the sunset cruise down the Hudson and turned around in front of the Statue of Liberty. The Statue, Ellis Island and the New Jersey and Manhattan skylines were glorious. The crew was very nice and experienced. Since we went late October, blankets accompanied the wine and soft drinks. This was definitely one of the highlites of the entire trip and so very reasonable! I can't wait to make the trip again.
