| I brought a group of Manhattanites and a few Queens folk for good measure. We had a blast and enjoyed going out to sea for a couple hours. Very relaxing and went by too quickly. Very nice crew let us do our thing but made sure we enjoyed ourselves, had enough space, and had a cold beer in hand if that is what we wanted. Great diversion. | ||||||

| My girlfriend and I went on the around Manhattan brunch cruise on a Saturday morning, and it was great. There were only 6 other people on the boat, so there was plenty of space. The food was good, service great and mimosas plentiful. When we passed the Circle Line boats with hundreds of people jammed shoulder-to-shoulder, we felt very lucky to be on this boat. All the extra space, food and drinks probably cost only about $20 more - a definite bargain! | ||||||

A Perfect Sail

| The Sunset Sail was wonderful. The breeze was perfect, at 5 - 10 knots. A local sailing club was having a regatta, and so the harbor was full of sailboats, like white butterflies turning golden in the setting sun. A gorgeous orange, pink, and lilac sunset was happening just as we passed the Statue of Liberty. As we headed home a big yellow full moon arose over the city, and behind us the memorial lights from the World Trade Center site lit up the sky. A memorable evening evening, indeed. | ||||||

| I am going to give you a couple of suggestions to make this lovely outing even better. Food - PLEASE do better. The ship and it's Captain deserve better and it just would NOT add much to the cost. For example, You serve bagels - of course it is NY - but why not add the appropriate smear? Hasn't anyone heard of cream cheese with lox blended in? The croissants were a joke and the orange thing I think you were passing off as marmalade was gross. This is suppposed to be a yacht and you certainly don't serve anything elaborate - at least serve quality products of what you do serve. Whatever the shortcomings, the Captain more than made-up for them. Honest, I would run out of adjectives describing this young man. Intelligent, knew the sights as well as his job. Warm, friendly, gracious host. Anticipated needs and intiated action to accommodate. I suspect you don't pay him enough. I am a lifelong New Yorker but it was sometimes hard for me to recognize all of the sights and no one would want a running commentary over the PA system. However, maybe every half hour if someone could tell us what we were about to see, it would have been helpful. You do have books in the cabin but it was such a beautiful day we barely went inside for a bite to eat! Again, thank goodness for that Captain - he was able to answer all of our questions and much more. Finally - do not book more than maybe 40 people - we were lucky to have less than 20 the day we went (it had rained for the previous 5 days) but more than 40 would have diminished the feeling of space and relaxation - thereby reducing one of the great parts of the experience - and dispite the fact that much of the above is critical - we did have a wonderful time. | ||||||

| Because I had just read an article in Time Out describing about 17 different boat rides in New York City, I first tried the Circle Line around Manhattan than the Manhattan Around Manhattan Brunch and, finally, the Manhattan Sunset Cruise. The boat itself is what keeps me coming back: because of the smaller size, fewer passengers and lots of glass, one can see almost 360 degrees from almost any point on the boat. There is a quality of peacefulness because there is no loud intrusive commentary but, if you have a question about something, it will be answered. There is, also, a quality of casual elegance. I am looking forward to trying the Fall Foilage Cruise. | ||||||

Beautiful Boat, Beautiful Manhattan

| A little pricey, but worth the pennies- for a romantic, genteel, "wind in your hair " kind of escape from the ordinary. The yacht 'Manhattan' is a very lovely boat. The evening cruise with lights aglow in lower Manhattan is dreamy. The onboard free champagne, wine, beer may be a bonus for some...However, we found the quality of the alcohol to be poor, so this didn't really help the mood. | ||||||

| Adirondack is a clean, well kept vessal, with a pleasant and efficient two man crew plus captain. Complimentary refreshments are served without a hint of stinting. On the evening we sailed, we were blessed with a stiff westerly breeze and no strong tide, so we ran down to the Statue of Liberty and back up to 23rd St. in near record time (just under the maximum designed speed of the boat). So the captain extended the tour up to the Intrepid and back. It was not the most brilliant of sunsets that day -- but that's not within the province of the captain. It was a fun, relaxing two hours. | ||||||

The best way to see the harbour

| I don't normally write reviews for trips that I've been on but this one was so memorable I thought that it deserved one. My boyfriend and I had both been on a couple of boat trips in the harbour previously so wanted to do something a little different and both love sailing - this was perfect. The boat is in beautiful condition and the captain and crew friendly and professional without being too intrusive, allowing you to relax and just enjoy the sail. There is something truly marvellous about being out on the waves under the power of , not just one, but four sails. I was pleased by the way you could sit where you like, and face outwards so you weren't in rows on plastic chairs, peering over other people's shoulders. We were left to sip champagne, talk about ourselves and admire the truly spectacular veiws. When we had questions, the crew or captain were happy to answer them, but otherwise left us in peace. The highlight for me was jibing in front of the Statue of Liberty - close enough for a fantastic view, and putting the average motorised tour boats to shame. If asked for the highlight of my trip, this would be it. | ||||||
