A Most Pleasant Way to Spend an Afternoon
Sun, Jun 7  2:00 PM blazer124 Female 60-69 Local Other
I have sailed on the Adirondack and the Imagine several times. Each occasion was a great event. The captain(s) and the crew(s) appear to be very competent and work very hard to ensure that all passengers enjoy the sail. (This past Sunday our captain was Julian, and our party of four felt very confident in his ability to afford us a safe, happy sailing experience.) I feel that if more people knew about the sailing vessels from the Chelsea Piers, more passengers would be sailing. I initially found out about the ships from my own personal searching on the Internet for sailboats from Manhattan. I have never seen an advertisement describing the sails; more publicity would be valuable.

One of my most favorite NYC things, just right, terrific service, friendly staff, beautiful boat. My guest from Scotland didn't want to go home, he was so entranced. Thank you.

the trip was very nice. It would have been more enjoyable if they would have involved the guests more and had a commenatary and pointed out things of interest

Well Run and Enjoyable Tour
Sun, May 24  1:00 PM Weeder Male 60-69 Local Other
My daughter, her husband and I enjoyed the sail very much. The day was beautiful and we were well cared for by the captain and ship mates. We had hoped to get a bit closer to Ms. Liberty, but understandably with a sailing ship, that may not have been possible. Even so we were within swimming distance of the Statue (for a seasoned swimmer, of course- lol) and took many pictures. Thanks for a great sail and a great day from my daughter, her husband, and me. I recommend this sail to anyone who wants something different from the large-scale motorized and crowded tours. This sail is fun, not crowded, well-run and there are great views of the Statue of Liberty and Manhatan. Carl

A different way to see Manhattan!
Sat, May 23  6:30 PM rothhe6 Female 60-69 Unspecified Unspecified
My husband and I took this cruise, which was a gift from our daughter for our 25th wedding anniversary. We'd never done anything like it here, although we have done similar activities on vacation. Everything was done very efficiently and the captain and crew were extremely friendly. We loved going under the East River bridges and getting up close and personal with the Statue of Liberty. One thing we felt we could have used more of was information about the harbor and how it contributed to the growth of commerce and shipping in Manhattan. We know there's a fascinating history there. Thanks also for the great weather!! We enjoyed the cruise immensely and would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in getting another view of Manhattan.

The Way to Go.
Fri, May 22  1:00 PM mykitkat9 Female 60-69 Combination Other
I wanted to give my friend's daughter, who is a young adult, a view of the NYC harbor on her very first trip to the Big Apple. As it turned out, she experienced two firsts; an incredible view of the harbor and her first ride in a sail boat. She was blown away by both experiences. We had a relatively small number of people on our beautiful schooner and as we passed other boats that were just loaded with tourists, we felt very special. The two hours that we spent at sea felt like just the right amount of time. We passed very close to the Statue of Liberty and other attractions and got some great pictures. Captain Tom and his crew did an excellent job. We never missed the canned tourist dialog and Captain Tom was always there with answers to any questions that we might have had. Even if you have done the big boats, you have to do this sail. I highly recommend it.

Fabulous cruise Want to do it again

My husband and I had a wonderful cruise around Manhattan. The Captain and crew were professional and a lot of fun. They served beautifully and were very informative. The food was plentiful and delicious. Just as soon as were left the dock, the food started to come out. No one rushed the people. There was enough for everyone. I can't wait to go again. We have told so many of our friends and we will probably go back with a group. Thanks for a wonderful day.

Great views of lower Manhattan & Statue of Liberty
Fri, May 15  6:00 PM TomHaeusler Male 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
My wife and I were in NYC for a week. We sailed on the Adirondack. There was a gentle breeze and we enjoyed the sail. I have some great up close pictures of the Statue of Liberty and the several other sail boats and ships in the harbor. The sun set on queue over Jersey City. We met two other couples and were well served by the crew. My wife appreciated the loaner blanket since it was cool. Watching the young lads jumping up and down to hoist the sails was a treat in its own right. Our biggest challenge was finding the entrance to the building (where it passes through to the pier), but that was not that big of a deal.

Wonderful afternoon in new York
Sun, May 3  2:30 PM patpritch Male 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Other
My wife, daughter, and son-in-law, and i spent a 4 day week-end in New York. It rained most of the afternoon but that didn't have any impact on the cruise. There were only 12 people total, so we had a lot of food and attention. It exceded expectation in every way, and we had a great time with the other passengers. The crew couldn't have been any better. Thanks. Pat Pritchard Dayton, Ohio

Lovely

We would do this again and try the other cruises offered by this company. We would recommend the cruise without hesitation. The only change/comment we all agreed upon was that the music was unnecessary and at time distracting.

Wondeerful Trip
Sat, Apr 4  10:45 AM virginiabrow Female 60-69 Local Group of Friends
This trip was a gift from our son. We invited friends, total six people. Only 20 people on boat and everything was perfect. Food was special.. Weather was rough, but boat was fine and we did not even know how windy it was until we stepped out side . interesting sights. One point, we were under the impression from print out that beer, wine, and other bloddy marys were included not just one free drink. Thjis was a problem since we were treating our friends who did not let us cover drinks. Try to make that clear when promoting event.. We had a great time. rwas

We had a wonderful evening on the Hudson River, the sunset was breathtaking and Manhattan was awesome. Have already recommended you twice to friends who are visiting shortly. Hot chocolate would have been nice on such a cold evening.

Despite the chilly weather, it was great to sail up the Hudson to see the foliage. The crew was fabulously attentive. Good food and drink, great day.
