| The sailing was the best because of the manner it was run by the captain and crew. It was not done as the typical "tour", just a very relaxed atmosphere allowing the passengers to see it all from the water without having to hear a guide describing all of the details. The view says it all and lets the passengers decide what they want to see, there is plenty of time to take pictures of Lady Liberty and the other wonderful sights. And the captain has a wonderful personality and sense of humor and answered all questions asked of him about the Adirondack as well as the sights. My soulmate and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience, we are both victims of the same type of incurable cancer, but never once did either of us give cancer a thought. She is from CA and I am from FL, we take as many "vacations" together as we can afford, she used to live in the NYC area many years ago after coming from Chile. We did take a couple of other tours that gave us a chance (esp. myself) to learn about Manhattan and to experience the city upclose and personal, but the highlight of our entire trip (well, the 2nd highlight to our being together) was most certainly the sunset sail aboard the Adirondack. She is still raving about it and both of us will tell everyone we know who might visit NYC that no matter what they might choose to do as tourists, it will be mandatory to take your sailing. Well done!! And what a coincidence that the next day we were atop the Empire State Building and I spotted the Chelsea Piers. We kept looking closely and yep, there you were, just entering the harbor for another sailing. I questioned that it might be another schooner and she let me know quickly that it was NOT another boat, it was the Adirondack. Indeed it was your magnificant schooner. Thanks to the Captain and all of the Crew for their hard work and their courtesy to make our vacation even more memorable. We WILL return. Olen and Tricia | ||||||

| Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A beautiful new boat with a friendly and helpful crew. The captain let my 10 year old companion stand at the helm and steer the boat for a moment. She was thrill. I highly recommend this trip. | ||||||

| the day of the cruise it was raining, although I had especially purchased the cruise for the sailing boat, we were stacked in the other boat, only later on the water when we waved to a sailing boat , I learned that we were actually given option to be on either of the boats..but unfortunately the person(young girl, who really didnt know what she was doing) in the ticket booth forgot to mention that sailing boat was boarding also.. 15 min after giving me my boarding tickets, as I am waiting by the booth, the same booth person calls me on my cell phone and asks me if we are on ourway to make it to the cruise..obviously she had messed the list that she didnt know we were already there..I think this organization can afford a smarter and more professional replacement on the booth...that this person has caused me 150 doollars of sth that I didnt want to participate.. | ||||||

| This is fantastic!!! What a deal - the best views of the city and free drinks! And the best part about it is that it doesn't have a touristy feeling about it! The crew is extra friendly! You'll really enjoy this! | ||||||

| My wife and I took the Sunset Cruise around Lower Manhattan. The scenery was tremendous and the crew was very friendly. I would definitely recommended it. I would, however, make one suggestion. There should be some type of narration of the sites so that an out-of-towner would know what they were looking at. Other than that, we had a really nice time. | ||||||

| If you enjoy seeing Manhattan and related from the harbour this is a very peaceful enjoyable way to do it. I was quite impressed with the Captain and crew of 2 mates. They kept the sails well tuned while navigating the ship and also serving beverages to all the guests. I will be back to NY next year and this is first on my list of things I will do again when visiting. Wear a jacket but if you forget, the crew quickly finds blankets for anyone needing one. Thanks! | ||||||

| I rode in a big sailboat yesterday. It had two giant wooden masts and three big sails. It was like "Pirates of the Carribean, " only no bloodshed, and our captain had more teeth and shorter hair. He did have a Scottish accent though. Also, we sailed around New York Harbor instead of the Carribean Sea. And like I said--no bloodshed. Just sunshine, warm breeze, ocean smell, waves. No tour guide chatter. We just bumbled around and enjoyed the gorgeous day and the gorgeous air, and took care not to get clocked on the head by a boon while the friendly crew expertly worked the sails. It was one of those rare situations where time slows during a wonderful experience---the two hours seemed like all day. So my advice to any peaceful pirates out there in need of a mini soul vacation is to slip off the shores of Gotham City for a couple of hours in the Adirondack Schooner . ARGH!!! | ||||||
