The trip was GREAT....I absolutely recommend it to others. The crew were GREAT....the vessle was GREAT. The ONLY complaint I have was about a woman on-board who talked loudly, non-stop to the captain the WHOLE trip. I was disappointed that the captain didn't tell her he was busy with the ship or that he needed to point out sites along the route to other passangers. She had him so involved in conversation about her whole life and her family, job, niece, etc. etc., that no one could ask the captain about anything. Non-stop chatter for the entire 2 hours. The captain was being nice to her, but the trip would have been much more pleasant if at least the conversation had been about the ship or the view or the historic buildings and sites along the way - I'm from out of town and don't know most of the buildings and had expected the captain to give us a little info during the trip.

Fun and relaxing evening

Our evening sail on the Adirondack was a surprise date I planned for my wife. We had a great time. The trip down the Hudson, around the Statue of Liberty and back up the Hudson was wonderful -- great views and great weather. The captain and crew were friendly, professional, helpful. (I'd read other reviews that the captain told too many corny jokes, so we sat up front and enjoyed a quiet, peaceful two hours out on the water.) The boat was full, but not crowded, on this Thursday night. We'd recommend this as a great way to unwind, relax and enjoy a romantic night out doing something a little different....

Terrific value for money and extremely well organised. Staff on the boat were enthusiastic and knowledgable. Wonderful views of Manhattan and statue of liberty on an evening sail - NYC was great at night!

We all were so glad we did this!

The vessel is truly beautiful; shiny wood and brass, just what a yacht should be. The crew was not only professional, but friendly and helpful as well, beginning right at the ticket booth. The food was simply outstanding. There should be a warning about how much more is coming! This was the last event of our trip and a truly fitting finish, which all four of us enjoyed immensely. We would recommend this highly, it was well worth the price.

Always something new to try in NY!!!

My husband has lived in NYC for 4 years. I travel from Detroit a few times every month to see him. We have a few regular hang-outs, but also enjoy finding new things to do. His 30th B-Day was coming up and since we both love being on the water, I looked up some of those dinner cruises. One had several reviews stating that the food was awful, and another with reviews saying that guests were left behind because they failed to dress properly. I kept searching and found the City Lights Sail on the Schooner Adirondack. I liked that there were a lot of large pictures on the web site. The price was very reasonable, and I was excited that we were going to be on a boat that actually had sails and we would be sitting so close to the water with an OPEN view, not crowded into some enclosed floating restaurant! So, on his B-Day we go to a restaurant that I found on City Search called the Blue Water Grill, it's on Union Square West, close to 14th St. and 5th Ave. The seafood there was fabulous and then we took a taxi from there right over to Pier 59, about a 5 minute drive. At first my husband looked surprised when he saw the boat because it's a lot different than the yacht and ferrys that you see around there. But once on board, you realize that every seat has a great view and it's a small crowd of about 40 people. As soon as we headed out, drinks were brought out and the crew was very hospitable. The views of JC, NYC, and the Statue of Libery were wonderful. We also had a beautiful moon that night, it was large and red and just peeking in and out of the skyline. This was our first time on a boat with sails so it was interesting to watch the crew as they worked the sails. So my point is, we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend it to others. If I had to throw something into the trip, I'd say that it would be cool to sail over to the Brooklyn Bridge, but that would probably make the trip a lot longer than 2 hours. If you go I wish your experience is as great as ours!!!

Absolutely FABULOUS!!!

Our only complaint is that we did not book this same tour for the night sail. We enjoyed the 4:30 sailing so much we wanted to do the evening sail but our time did not allow. We are definitely coming back to do this tour. The captain was so informative and did not mind answering all the questions from the kids or even the adults. The crew did everything possible to make our sailing enjoyable and memorable. I promise you that this tour is worth the price of admission and they will have to pry you from the boat !!!!!!! Thanks for a great time and expect to see us in the future. OHIO

Complimentary drinks were plentiful, the staff was so friendly, the captain even let little children "steer "the boat - would go again in a heartbeat....and definitely recommend to friends.

An often overlooked escape that offers an out of the ordinary view of Manhattan. Highly recommended for an intimate date excursion, and equally charming as a group activity, this two hour sail is the perfect afternoon or evening diversion. Great as a precursor to a night out, or sets a romantic stage for a night in!

Fun way to begin our party
Sat, Oct 10  6:00 PM thebofis Male 20-29 Local Group of Friends
I went on this sail for my friend's bachelor party, we were served 2-3 rounds of drinks and most people, not having eaten first, were drunk enough from those that the freezing cold wind that night did not bother us as much as if we were sober. The crew was friendly enough and we had very nice views of downtown and the Statue of Liberty. Sail did not take us around the island or up the east river, just down to Statue of Liberty and back up.
