Never saw the city look like this.

What a beautiful night. The beauty of the full moon beaming behind the Woolworth Building across the Hudson was breathtaking. Fireworks shot off behind the skyline and we felt like we were in a fairy tale. The air was sweet and we hadn't felt so relaxed in years. One suggestion. One of the passengers on our cruise insisted on making an extended business call on her cell phone. She loudly played "master of the universe" while everyone tried to relax. It was jarring and for a few minutes put a damper on the evening. Here's the suggestion. For the 2 hour cruise, why not ask all passengers to show some respect for each other and the beauty that is in front of them. On boarding, why not ask passengers to refrain from using their cell phones for the duration of the cruise. It would help everyone fully enjoy their 2 hour escape. Again, the jarring phone call was over in 10 minutes. We quickly recovered, but all things being equal we would have preferred the caller had gotten a busy signal. Thanks.

Fab must-do in New York

The cruise was so beautiful. We were on the sunset cruise and once we got out on the water and the captain turned the motor of, it was heaven. The captain was especially nice and the crew very efficient. It's going to be on my list of things to tell visitors to New York to do.

Beautiful way to see NYC

Seeing New York's skyline from the water offers us a wonderful perspective that we don't often get to have. Viewing New York at twilight, with everything lit up is just a treat. It reminds us all of why we live here! We got to see the 4 temporary waterfalls (albeit from a distance) in lower Manhattan, which we had also been wanting to do. The captain, who had been our host last year, when we had done this same trip with some of the same friends, was informative and we enjoyed his wry sense of humor.

Champagne Waterfall Cruise

A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Crew were warm, friendly, highly professional and well-informed. The 90-minute length of the ride is just perfect. Wish we could have gone a bit closer to the falls but it was a VERY windy day, so perhaps that was the reason. The arrival time (20-30 minutes before) is a bit too far ahead as the boarding gate does not open until 5 minutes before the departure time and the waiting area is hot and crowded. Once on the water, however, heaven in your hat!

The boat and staff was excellent. I have recommended this to family and friends based on our pleasant experience. Thanks for making such a nice tour! P.S We didn't even have any champagne and it was still outstanding!

The falls were ok but the boat ride was wonderful. We liked that it was a small group and we slowed down at points of interest and needless to say the drinks were an added plus.! Have recommended it to other people.

I was a passenger on "The Manhattan" cruise around the island last fall. That trip was fabulous because of the boat, the food, and the 'Cook's Tour.' The Adirondak trip this past weekend offered a very different type of experience. I was on the water bobbing and rocking with the tide and the wind and Manhattan and Hoboken were very far away. I felt very nautical like Captain Kate said I would. I realize the crew had to be vigilant about our sail but I wished they could offer more discussion about what they were doing and why - coming about, etc. They did answer such questions when they could. They were a funny, respectful, and professional team - I really wish I could have helped them out.

Had a great time on board. The trip was interesting. Had perfect weather. The crew was friendly and continued to serve refreshments and answer questions. Will return again to bring more friends. So glad I discovered this site.

This is a great way to see the skyline from the Hudson, with Liberty and Ellis Island as well. The boat was clean. 35 passengers made it very uncrowded. The crew of three were both knowledgable and courteous. At $40.00, this is a real bargain. We will definetly do this again on our next visit to NYC.

It was a delightful trip, just long enough, offering a new perspective on the City and the river. The crew was more than competent and very courteous. The light, clouds and colors were wonderful.

i had seen the captain on a news program, and he was as sweet and terrific and a great sailor as he was on t.v.. the boat was immaculate, air conditioned and extremely comfortable. we could also go outside. i was feeling a bit seasick and a very kind crew member got crackers and chips. the waterfalls were interesting and being the water very special. i thought it was fantastic and recommend it highly. i would say no small children however, to enclosed a space.

This was my first winetasting cruise but my third time on The Manhattan, and I'll be coming back for more. I'm finding them a great way to entertain, do something different, get out on the water without the blaring music or screeched narrations of other boats, and have some cover from the weather. The Manhattan's cruises are just classy, and that's due to the professional, warm but not suffocating crew, the expertise in the galley whether it's brunch or passed hors d'oeuvres, bartenders who seem to enjoy delivering great service--you'll want to tip well. From concept to the smallest details, this company gets it right--immaculate, large, well-appointed bathrooms reminded me of the original Queen Mary. Also, the mix of passengers has so far always included a wide range of ages and interests, international visitors, and civilized behavior, so it doesn't smack of "tourist" event or Wall Street partyers. The small number of passengers vs. capacity--14-25 on my three trips, with a capacity to seat 45 or hold 90 standing up--contributes to the feeling you are taking a trip on a private yacht. I just hope the owners find the business model viable! I was skeptical that 5 dry rose wines exist on the planet, but I enjoyed finding out I was wrong, and how different supposedly similar wines can be. The wine tasting team really knew their stuff, could quote alcohol contents, provenance, and retail price ranges without hesitation. The hors d'oeuvres pairings were uncanny, and of very high quality. Generous pouring of undrunk bottles at the end of the tasting. This trip is a keeper!
