Good Holiday fun.

Having made a quick holiday trip to NYC from California to catch some shows and holiday spirit during very cold weather, the boat tour was a wonderful experience to see some sights and enjoy the Chelsea Opera performers in holiday music.

expensive and not worth it

I have been already to new york and done all the major tourist sight seeing so this year I thought to do something different. Unfortunately was very poorly experience as it was 1.5 hrs going around manhattan on a boat. the captain didnt say a single word at all when we were passing the major attractions. the only good thing was the glass of wine. defn i dont recommended to anyone as it is really a waste of money.

It was a really great intimate atmosphere on the boat. There have been about 10 other passengers with us. The view was exciting and I recommend this trip to all guest, tourists, as well NYC citizen!

If you are looking for something special to do in New York but totally 'untouristy' then this is for you. Finally we found an activity that isn't cheesy or commentated. You can snuggle up under a blanket whilst you are waited on hand and foot by really friendly crew members and are sailed down towards the Statue of Liberty in time for the sunset. The staff are more than happy to answer your questions if you have any. I must admit I felt quite smug as the touristy circle line ferry sailed past us in a hurry! I could feel the jealousy from their passengers as they admired the Adirondack from the 'comfort' of their battery hen style boat and watched us sipping Champagne - hee hee! I highly recommend the Adirondack and would have no hesitation to go on it again. Makes a really special activity for the last day of holidays in New York xx

Very nice boat, team, atmosphere and... journey!

I was surprised the boat was such a cute old sail boat, comfortable, and the team was so gentle, providing hot coffee or... champaign for ones birthday! The sail was superb, with the best view you can have onto NYC or the Liberty statue, in day, sunset, and night lights! Really, a perfect moment, could'nt dream a better one, it worth any price! But... one advise: it was in winter and despite they provide really warm blankets (any number you need), better wear something reeeaaaally warm that cuts the wind! Thanks again to all the team!

Beautiful trip.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. The weather cooperated, too. Trip was informative and very interesting. One minor problem. Please no babies. The poor little ones are quite cranky after a 2 hour cruise. The constant crying does create a distraction from the lecture. In the future, is it possible to ban small children under 3? I know it's harsh, but the alternative seems worse.

A Civilized Trip
Sun, Nov 21, 10   2:15 PM Raffone Male 60-69 Local Group of Friends
The old boat was elegant with lovely snacks and drinks provided. The others on the trip were intelligent and very interested in local history and architecture. The AIA speakers were relaxed, knowledgeable, and helpful. They let others chime in, and they were not overbearing like so many pin-headed tours.

Basically Excellent
Sun, Nov 21, 10   2:15 PM Alisonrub Female 60-69 Local Other
We loved the cruise so I basically have a couple of minor comments which you might want to think about. First, since there is so much to discuss immediately upon departure from the dock, why not go slower or stop so you have time to point out the various structures instead of trying to quickly mention them. It was hard to know what was being cited at times. The other minor point is the guides need to position themselves in a way that does not obstruct the view of the passangers. Arthur did this well but Kyle gets a "D" from me. He stood right in front of where my husband and I were sitting. We had people sitting on either side of us so we couldn't move (plus where there was really no place to go). But as I said, we really enjoyed the cruise, the ship, the food, the company and mostly the view and commentary. We will highly recommend it.

LOVELY, JUST TWO SMALL SUGGESTIONS
Sun, Nov 21, 10   2:15 PM platttj Female 60-69 Local Other
TWO SUGGESTIONS: I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN MORE OUT OF THE EXPERIENCE HAD THE GUIDES FOLLOWED MORE CLOSELY THE NUMBERED SITES ON THE BROCHURE WITH A MENTION THAT "WE'RE NOW LOOKING AT NUMBER 8." THE GUIDES ARE VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE BUILDINGS. WE, HOWEVER, ARE NOT. I OFTEN DIDN'T KNOW WHICH BUILDING THEY WERE POINTING AT OR REFERRING TO. ALSO, A LITTLE BACKGROUND REGARDING THE PARTICULAR CHALLENGES AND BENEFITS OF BUILDING ON MANHATTAN (BEDROCK, ETC.) WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY USEFUL. ENTHUSIASTIC AND EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE GUIDES, LOVELY SHIP, GREAT EXPERIENCE.

We had a wonderful time on this tour. Very informative without being boring. Te 2 docents complimented eachother's info smoothly & were very friendly and open to questions. The crew were professional & the wine, cheese etc. were tasty. All in all, we loved the day.

This was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Wendy is a great teacher and picked out the best wines and cheeses! This is my second Wine Tasting with her and it was every bit as good as the first. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a nice day, good company and an easy going atmosphere. Can't wait to do it again!

Our group only had one day in NYC. We were on a tour bus trip from home; we paid for tickets to help a fundraiser for our children's school. This harbor cruise was THE BEST part of our trip! I did most of the research for our trip-places to go, see, cost, etc. I explained the cruise to the group and my major selling point was the limited seating on the boat. On this trip there was NO bad side of the boat; everywhere we sat or could sit was in line of great views of the harbor and the NYC skyline. There was no pushing, shoving or dealing with rude people like is common on a touristy boat tour that carries over 700 people. There is nothing like sailing past the Statue of Liberty! It was awesome. The crew were friendly, answering any questions we had, serving drinks and providing blankets to cover our legs with (we went in mid Nov.). It was a great trip, worth even more than we paid. I can not wait to visit the city again with my children. This harbor sailing cruise is something our family will undoubtedly do! I will reccommend this to anyone and everyone.

This was a great day in NYC. Our son and daughter-in-law had just moved to Manhatten and we went to visit them. They selected this tour. We liked it because it was small and intimate(about 30 People), the food was delicious, and the sights fantastic!
