The sail was so much better than we expected. The crew was friendly, knowledge, and made sure we were all well cared for. The views of New York harbor are amazing. Definitely a trip worth taking again! |

Very relaxing, great crew. Not a guided/informational tour but very beautiful and scenic views of the city, Statue of Liberty and Ellis island. Boat was a little crowded, but everyone was very nice and helpful. I would definitely take another sail in the future. |

I thoroughly enjoyed the sail. The crew (headed by Capt Kate) was terrific, and responsive to all requests. And they were fun to be with.
I understand everyone wants to cover the route between Chelsea Piers and the Statue of Liberty, but for repeat riders, it sure would be nice to cover some more ground, when weather permits. |

My 21 year old son and I had a wonderful time aboard the Adirondack Schooner. He is in from college in Boston, and I made this the centerpiece of a New York City day. Everything was perfect, from the tee shirts I ordered for us to the experience on the water.
My son told me this was the best part of a day that included Breakfast at Pastis, a walk on the Chelsea Highline, a film, dinner and a long-running Broadway play. This speaks volumes in and of itself. He described the voyage as relaxing. In addition to the beautiful views, the Captain and the rest of the crew (as well as Dorothy at the ticket office) could not have been nicer. Most beverages were included in the price and the crew was generous with servings.
I have never been treated better than I was on this trip. |

Nice weather, nice sunshine, nice breeze and very nice crew and captain.
And a nice crowd on the boat.
For me, the best way to have NY in front of you without the hustle and bustle. Just gliding across the water, enjoying a drink and the sea breeze. Forget the tour boats to the Statue, forget Staten Island Ferry. If you want to see it all in style, this is the one for you. |

We started the day (a Monday) at the Tenement Museum, walked to Balthazar for lunch and then took the subway to the High Line for a walk to where the line ends. Followed that with a drink at Morans before walking over to Chelsea Piers. Arrived a bit early for the cruise and not much to do at the Piers so we had a few more drinks at Jasons. Should have stayed longer at Morans but we thought there would be a lot to do and see at the piers. There isn't. The Adirondack sunset cruise started on time at 6.45 and we enjoyed it thoroughly. A light sprinkling of rain was thwarted by rain coats which were quickly distributed. We took some pastries from Balthazar to eat with the champagne provided on board (generous serving of champagne - declined a 4th glass) but people had all sorts of nibblies with them. It was a great way to finish a big day and our only disappointment was that the two restaurants we were aiming for a few minutes away from the piers (Red Cat and Tia Pol) were both full when we arrived after the cruise. Highly recommend the cruise for any age group. Age mix varied from 20's up to 60's. The boat was full but we didn't feel at all cramped. |

We absolutely loved this sunset sailing cruise! The staff was funny, friendly, and very helpful! They acted like they really enjoyed what they do and they even wanted to take pictures of everyone. This was probably one of our favorite things we did on our trip to NYC. I strongly recommend it! Luckily we only had a few drops of rain on our cruise, so it ended up being a perfect night :) Thank you for such a wonderful time! |

My girlfriend and I decided to take my parents who were visiting from England on the sunset sail on their last night here. What a smashing way to end their holiday - the crew were great, and even though it was a bit cloudy, we all had a great time. Would recommend to anyone!
Cheers! |

My family and I have sailed The Adirondack many times and we highly recommend it to anyone who loves being out on the water. The Adirondack is a beautiful vessel run by a very competent captain and crew. The sail is a fantastic way to take in the sights and enjoy the wonder of New York City. |

There is no formal narration but if you sit toward the back near the captian, you can ask questions which she happily answers and hear the questions and answers of others about the sites you are passing.
This was a wonderful trip for my husband and I, in our 60's, and our son and his girlfriend. But this will be weather dependant as you are out in the open.
Breath taking views of of the NY skyline and Statue of Liberty.
Not crowded and very personal - and we sailed on Memorial Day. They were fully booked, but it's just a small activitiy. There are no lines and no crowds.
Highly recommend if you are looking for a peaceful, scenic way to spend a few hours.
Including the Pier # in the directions would have made it easier to find. |
