Our group included 2 seniors, 5 adults, and 4 children, ranging in age from 10 -14. Everyone really enjoyed the trip, even though it rained most of the way around Manhattan. The cabin is comfortable with windows everywhere so you can easily see around even if you can't go outside. The food is good and plentiful - and it keeps coming throughout the ride, so don't fill up on the first go! The crew is small but accomodating. There is no guided tour over the loudspeakers, instead there is soft music and books that identify all the Manhattan landmarks as you go by. You see sides of the city that you'd never see from land - it's beuatiful, interesting, and relaxing. My only complaint is that they refused to reserve seating for our large pre-paid party that included seniors with mobility problems, even though it was raining and the cabin was sure to be crowded. It all worked out because the kids rushed ahead and saved a table for us all, but the stress of worrying about my parents' comfort for a 3 hour trip seemed unnecessary. Aside from that I would highly recommend the trip to all ages except active small children. |

We enjoyed the Manhattan Yacht Cruise so much! We loved the fact that it has a full and clear view behind glass all around the yacht when it was raining that day. We also enjoyed the variety and quality of food served all the time, in addition to the great service that was provided. Also, the yacht was so smooth on water.. no turbulance or swaying.. just a perfect ride! we loved it... thanks to the crew for an enjoyable time! |

I took my daughter on this sail for her 29th birthday. The boat was not new but beautifully maintained. The awesome friendliness and professionalism of the captain and crew make this company's sails exceptional--the service experience is equally fine on its glass-topped yacht The Manhattan. Lots of international tourists (you could tell not only by accented English and conversation in other languages but by the rush to take pictures with the Statue of Liberty in the background) but not only couples, so a mother/adult daughter didn't feel like we'd tripped into a couples-only event, and passengers were of a wide range of ages. The captain's joy in her work was infectious, the weather was perfect. Not least, the complimentary, excellent wine and premium beer, as well as champagne which I didn't taste, were freely served, unlike sails I've been on for the same price where only a half glass of champagne is given and anything else must be purchased--I think our server came around 4-5 times and poured generously. Best of all is the absence of a touristy herd activity feeling: locals have figured out this is a great way to relax on the water without actually owning a schooner. This sail earns six stars on your five-star system! |

Everything about this trip was wonderful! The yacht was spotless and very well maintained. The food was excellent and delicious. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The four children that were with me were kept quite entertained...especially when we saw "the lady with the torch". The yacht was not overcrowded which made the trip even more enjoyable. I highly recommended it to anyone who "loves NY". |

Everything in general was very nice. Only criticism would be the order of food presentation. There was no indication that more food was coming out after the first initial "course". Sweets (danishes, brownies) should have been saved for later. Ham should have been offered with the bagels/breads. Very strange. |

We really enjoyed the night time cruise. We had originally booked the schooner Adirondack, but it was raining, so the schooner was in dock. We were offered a tour on the 1920's style yacht, Manhattan, because it had an enclosed area. It was wonderful, even though it rained. It was great that we were offered an option rather than having the tour completely canceled. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. I think the rain kept the number of tourists down. The yacht we were on probably held 90 people, but there were only about a dozen of us on it. It was very relaxing. I'd highly recommend the boat tour to anyone who hasn't seen NYC at night. |

Unforgettable. My 12 year old enjoyed it just as much as the newlywed visitors whom we took on the boat ride. The weather was perfect, the views out of this world and the price could not be beat for this fun, relaxing and unique experience. We really liked the deck hands who served the beverages. Some of the guests took advantage of the liberal offerings of alcohol and seemed too tipsy to realize that they are actually on a boat with others and not in the privacy of their bedroom. Otherwise, this was the best time one could have on a nice evening in NYC. |

the captain spent the last half hour sailing in a circle by the dock because he didn't time the event well. It was not a super-big deal as we all enjoyed the sail, but it would have been better to have just sailed a bit further before heading back to Chelsea Piers. I have come on this sail annually for several years now, and other captains have made these adjustments in the past. Highly recommend the excursion though. Thanks. |

The cruise was great. 90 mins is the perfect length of time to see plenty of lower Manhattan, over to the Statue of Liberty, under several bridges and other harbor sights. Kids and adults had a great time. No time to get bored as there is lots to see. Crew was pleasant and the treat of a beverage was a plus. We were able to bring our own snacks with us, so everyone was happy. I think it was $40 well spent for the time and the experience. The boat size is nice. Not a crowd like the Circle Line and not too long a trip. We were able to fit it in with lots of others activities to do and see in NYC for a day. |

Recommend this as a nice sail for everybody.Very small children would get antsy after a bit though. Only suggestion would be they should give an occasional narration or interesting story about the harbor skyline or buildings, etc.
Would do it again. |
