My wife and I were in NYC for a week. We sailed on the Adirondack. There was a gentle breeze and we enjoyed the sail. I have some great up close pictures of the Statue of Liberty and the several other sail boats and ships in the harbor. The sun set on queue over Jersey City. We met two other couples and were well served by the crew. My wife appreciated the loaner blanket since it was cool. Watching the young lads jumping up and down to hoist the sails was a treat in its own right. Our biggest challenge was finding the entrance to the building (where it passes through to the pier), but that was not that big of a deal. |

Spent a fantastic afternoon on the Adirondack. Bright sunshine, stiff wind. Exhilarating trip round Statue of Liberty, and more gentle, conversational return. All the crew welcoming and knowledgeable. Saw all the obvious sites and some less so, such as the Frying Pan and bar/restaurant at the end of Pier 66. Recommend wholeheartedly. |

After skipping out once due to bad weather, my boyfriend and I took another swing and had a wonderful time aboard the Schooner Adirondack with Captain Sarah and her lovely crew. We got a great look at the statue of liberty, and the sun was hitting the building of lower Manhattan on our trip back which made for a beautiful scene. In terms of planning you'll want to check the weather forecast before you buy tickets, as the trip won't be canceled unless the weather is really severe- and your definition of severe weather may not be on par with the opinion of a pro. Also be sure to bundle up- I wore heavy jeans, three shirts under a sweatshirt, gloves, and I was still a bit chilled. It gets quite windy out there, but that's part of the fun! You may want to bring something to snack on with the complimentary champagne, and bring some extra cash so you can tip the crew on your way out (they earned it!). |

What to do for Mother's Day with two over-20 children was a problem, espcially since no one enjoys my preferences: a museum or a play. We found the schooner info on a website and our problem was solved. Although the weather was a bit chilly the sun was shining and we had a lovely sail with a beautiful, upclose and quiet view of the city skylines, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, all the lower Manhattan bridges and the Verrazano. The crew was upbeat, couteous and obliging. We had some "guest skippers" (kids from other groups) who did very well. The NY State champagne we purchased on board was very fine and thanks to the thorough description online, we even knew to bring cheese, veggies and dip to enjoy with it! All that, and blankets for when the sun went in and we felt a little chill! Thanks for a geat Mother's Day. |

It was Mother's Day and my daugther choosed to send my sister and I on this day cruise. I've been on cruises before but did not know what to expect regarding refreshments. The food was delightfully refeshing and the sun and scenery was also very beautiful. The atmosphere and people were full of charm and the crew was also accommodating.
We really enjoyed ourselves and would recommend this on any ordinary day and well. It's an easy way to relax in a busy place like New York. |

We were lucky enough to have strong winds and tons of sun. Although we listed dramatically, no one in our group felt seasick. The crew was friendly and knowledgable. Our cruise was pretty crowded (25+ people) but we barely noticed. After living in NYC for 12 years I would put this activity in my Top 3 fun things to do in the city. |

I enjoyed the cruise, but the brunch could have been a lot better. The captain talked too much about the sights and it became a little annoying and loud. Felt like a carnival cruise. The sights were nice and If these few things changed it would have been lovely. |

It was a really great experience! My boyfriend and I took this sail for my birthday, right after a Broadway play and right before dinner. It was absolutely the perfect middle to a perfect date. The crew was really friendly and accommodating. There were three rounds of drinks (champagne, wine, or beer), and my boyfriend really enjoyed the local Long Island lager they offered. The pace was just right; not too fast and not too slow. Just enough to enjoy the Manhattan and Jersey skylines (Lady Liberty wasn't such a bad treat either). It was supposed to rain that day, but luckily it didn't. Though naively, my other half and I thought 72 degrees on land would be 72 degrees on the water. Bring a light coat, sweater, or windbreaker, even if its scheduled to be hot that day. Overall, it was a wonderful activity that I recommend to all my friends, and one that I am anxious to try again. |

I bought 2 tickets for my boyfriend's birthday. While the weather was overcast, we still had a fabulous time! The captain and crew were perfect - not overly enthusiastic, willing to answer questions, interacted with the group - just overall fantastic! They serve 3 rounds of drinks and you're encouraged to bring your own picnic as there are no snacks. It was a super delightful trip and I hope to go again soon!!! |
