a fun touristy thing to do - even for locals

| I really liked the informal feel of this wine tasting. Basically you could sit on comfy benches, go out on the deck to check out the city, and be interrupted only by the host pouring more wine and bringing out appetizers that were not only tasty, but matched the wines. It was also great to see the city from such interesting views. My friend and I really enjoyed ourselves and I would do this again with other out of town guests. Oh- and the chef even made me some veggie treats as there were a number of appetizers that had meat in them. I didn't even ask - they just brought them out after I refused a couple of the meaty treats. | ||||||

| The yacht wasn't crowded at all which was nice. I was with a group of 6 people (it was for my boyfriend's birthday) and we had our own private area. There were about 3-4 other groups, also having their own space and area. The atmosphere was fun and light. Wendy did a great job of explaining the history of Greece and its wine and the food pairings were delicious. We especially enjoyed going outside on the yacht and enjoying the cool breeze as well as appreciating the viewable sites. I would definiely go again. | ||||||

Don't Expect Good Customer Service in Bad Weather

| We booked our trip in advance, and unfortunately Hurricane Bill came through the East Coast the day we booked. Despite NYC having closed all the beaches, and really bad weather, they would not refund our money. They told us our options were to go ... they said it was a 40% chance of rain when it was actually raining on us as we had this dicussion ... or to re-schedule. We were the only party that showed up, and despite this, they were very inflexible. I don't know what they have to gain by their approach, but I wouldn't even think about booking in advance if you are not willing to go out in really bad boating weather. | ||||||

| I've never bought a ticket to anything on a more poorly designed Web Site. Good luck! Then, forget all the BS about "weather conditions" and cancellation policy. Because it's pure BS, and nothing but... Our "sail" left w/ exactly 2 people on board. The "customer service" on site was purely ridiculous... the "captain" said it would be the "best sail of the summer", and lightning was stricking the Hudson River. Really, really, really a joke, a trap, and to be avoided at all costs! Mark Taylor | ||||||

| This was the second time I've been on this sail (first time was a few years ago) and it was wonderful both times. Since we are all New Yorkers, it was an added plus that there was no commentary on landmarks and we were free to talk amongst ourselves and just generally enjoy the sail. I'll definitely go on this sail again. A member of the group exclaimed that we should do this for all of our birthdays every year - only a tad of an exaggeration, but that is how much we all enjoyed it! | ||||||

| I've sailed these schooners at least twice a year for the past five years, and every trip is different and special in it's own way. The crew is always professional, but fun, and the boat is clean and comfortable. Worth every penny. Great trip for both locals and visitors, as NY is always most beautiful from the water, no matter what time of the day or year. Rain or shine, it's an experience you will cherish, and want to have again and again. | ||||||

| I have done the Adironack/Imagine cruising a few times - All but one of our group of 5 had done it before as well. I love the water and the view of Lady Liberty and the city. This trip was unique because we had a summer squall. The crew was completely prepared; dropped the mainsail early, handed out rain gear and gave us a great ride! I love this ride every time but this was a one time experience! Only one bad thing. There were 5 of us on this trip and only one drinks beer. We thought the price included wine as well but were told that was just for the Sunset Sail. Oh well, good thing we got the $15 off discount. For the record, the Sunset Sail is my fave - it's great to see the lights of the city come up from the water. | ||||||

| We took the sunset tour the first night of our vacation in New York. What a perfect way to start! The boat is beautiful, the crew was awesome and the city views were spectacular. We had a blast and would definitely recommend this! | ||||||

| We had a group of about 20 people to celebrate our friends Birthday on the boat. The problem with a large group is that since you mainly have to be sitting down on the boat the whole time, it makes it difficult to socialize/walk around/take pictures, etc. We were pretty much stuck in the spot we sat down at when we first boarded the boat. The captains were very friendly and allowed us to move around a little and get some pictures but not only did they frown upon that but it's a dangerous feeling and difficult anyway since the sailboat tips side to side, so it's better to be sitting anyway. I think one-on-one dates work better for this situation. The champagne, wine and beer was served continuously, it's fun to be able to bring your own snacks to go with the drinks served. | ||||||

| My excursion on the schooner is probably unlike many others. A group of friends from NYC gathered to celebrate a friend's birthday but cruising the Hudson while sipping on champagne. The crew was very friendly and attentive. Our sail ended with the worst storm of the year- terrible winds, thunder and lightening. It was a blast! The captain and crew remained calm and assured us of our safety. Getting back to shore safe and sound was a great way to end the trip. What might have been a disaster to some turned into one of the most memorable evenings I've had in a while! Thanks to the crew on the Adirondack for taking such great care of us. I have certainly recommended this sail to others. | ||||||

| The fact that the weather was cooperative and breezy helped the friendly crew to be just that. My friend and I plied members with oodles of questions and they were warm and personable and helpful even when we spilled drinks all over their nice clean deck. The main reason for touring with you was to celebrate the Henry Hudson Quadracentennial Celebration of the outstanding world changing discovery of New York harbor in 1609. We'd spent the a.m. in the Museum of the City of New York up on East 102nd St and 5th Avenue viewing the history of this event. Also a great tour!! I've talked up the cruise to many friends and handed off your nicely done fliers that I picked up at Pier 62. Getting to the Chelsea Dock was easy via the crosstown bus especially since I'm a tourist from Florida and my friend a farm girl from upstate NY. WE ABSOLUTELY AND THOROUGHLY ENJOYED IT. | ||||||

| A group of eight of us took my sister on this to celebrate her 40th birthday. It was a spectacular night and sunset. We tried at least six different wines that were very generous pours and delicous. The appetizers that accompanied the tastings were incredibly tasty. We had dinner reservations afterwards that we ended up ordering a couple appetizers and a drink because we were all so stuffed with food and drink. Overall we loved it and would do it again. The crew were friendly, informative and generous. A great bang for your buck!! | ||||||
