| I needed something relaxing to end my weekend and prepare for a hectic week ahead...and the 8:30pm Sunday night Schooner Adirondack sail was just what I needed! The boat wasn't too crowded, so there was plenty of room to walk around, lay down and look up at the stars, or just gaze off at the gorgeous NYC skyline. The captain even let me take a hand at the wheel for a while as we sailed out to the Statue of Liberty. Thanks a ton to the captain and the crew - you guys were as great as the boat itself! | ||||||

Amazing New York experience for a family

| I had been on the Adirondack schooner several times, and this time I decided to take my family on the Manhattan as a fun family outing. There were seven of us, including two little girls, ages 3 and 6. Everyone had a blast! It was a cool, crisp, early fall day, and the views were beautiful. The kids loved counting the bridges we passed as we traveled the Hudson River, the Harlem River, the East River, and back around to Chelsea Piers. And they loved waving at all the other boats passing us by. The adults loved the views of the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, the U.N., the Brooklyn Bridge, and of course, the incredibly close-up view of the Statue of Liberty. The brunch was just right, the crew was super-friendly and helpful, and it was just an all around wonderful time. Having lived in New York most of my life, I don't hesitate at all in saying it was one of the most fun things to do in New York. Thanks for making it a great time for my family and me! | ||||||

| I have been on the sails many times -- it's one of my favorite things to do in New York, either by myself or with friends -- and once again I had a spectacular trip. I bought tickets for a friend and her husband for her birthday, and another couple joined us as well. While I have been on the boat many times, none of them ever had -- and they all thought it was a unique and amazing experience. They were shocked that within 5 minutes of leaving the Manhattan pier, it was so quiet and calm you could have been anywhere. One of the couples was in from Los Angeles, and even with all the sails and cruises available there, they thought this one stood out. The views of the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, and downtown New York City captivated them, but when we pulled up within a few hundred feet of the Statue of Liberty, with the motor off and no noise whatsoever, they were hooked. (And every time one of the big, loud, booze cruises or Circle Line boats passed by with hordes of people and loud music blaring, they would comment on how glad they were not to be on one of those.) Throw in some cold champagne and beer, and it was a very special evening they won't forget anytime soon. | ||||||

| Last night, I was hosting my six-year old niece in Manhattan, and after hearing her talk all about the Statue of Liberty lessons she was just getting at school and seeing how interested she was, I decided to keep her up WAY past her bedtime and take her on this sail. It was a great decision! We did lots of other things during the day - a fun pizza dinner, visited a chocolate factory, etc - but nothing topped this sail in her eyes. We took the late-night sail, so we left just around sunset and came back in the dark. As an added surprisce, there were fireworks over the Hudson River in both Staten Island and New Jersey that went off while we were on our trip. Not only did my niece love the sail, but it was really interesting for me to see it through her eyes. I've been on this sail on the Adirondack Schooner a few times before, but she kept pointing things out to me that I never noticed before. And to top it all off, she thought that Captain Sarah was just the nicest Captain in the world (even let my niece stand next to her and feel like she was driving the boat for a while) and said she wants to go on it again with the same captain sometime, so she can teach her how to sail for real! And the best part of all is that now she thinks I'm the coolest uncle in the world. (And I thought pizza and chocolate would be the big hit?!?!) | ||||||

| I had been on the Adirondack several times before, and decided to take my father on it for Father's Day. He loved it. It was a great atmosphere to just catch up on things while taking in the views and escaping the busy city for a while. He is a bit of a New York City history buff, having lived here his entire life, so he very much enjoyed getting to see the skyline from the water - the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, all the buildings in the financial district and downtown, not to mention the Hoboken and Jersey City skylines on the other side of the Hudson River that have changed so much in the past decade. All in all, this was just a great way to spend a few hours, relax, enjoy the drinks and thank my dad for everything. | ||||||

| With only 32 passengers, perfect weather, and a delightful captain and crew, this was just what the doctor ordered for each of the eight of us. The bar needs sour mix, but otherwise the price and set up is great---and we all agreed 2 hours would be even better (actually, we'd even take a 3 hour cruise!) I'm rebooking soon! | ||||||

| I sailed on Adirondak once before; today I brought my wife and adult kids. I have sailed for many decades on many oceans. This is a fine safe boat and the crew is delightful. Yes, under the watchful eye of our captain, I was able to be at the helm myself. | ||||||

| this is a unique boat, and a great activity - we had a wonderful time relaxing in the sunny, enclosed parlor, from where you can get 360 views of the city. We also fully enjoyed the drink service & brunch. i hope to do this again very soon - a fabulous way to spend a saturday morning. Also, I would like to send a message to the crew of the Manhattan, a big Thank YOU!! | ||||||

| I first feared that this activity will be too touristy and tacky, but I took the risk as the concept is great. I took my fiancy for his birthday and it turned out to be a great thing to do to chill and chat with each other. The group was great and no one was too loud and everyone was friendly. The service was fairly subtile and we were totally relaxed. It waqs definitely a full success. Thank you | ||||||

| Sailing on the schooner was a beautiful experience! The sunset and dusk views were gorgeous. The best was when the sails were raised and the boat drifted silently toward the Statue of Liberty: the only sound was the ringing bell of the buoy. Nice staff too! | ||||||

| We had done the 1/2 island cruise on a full moon night about 7 years ago and wanted to try something different. This was a relaxing couple of hours that would have been better only if there was wind for sailing. We had the motor running all but about 5 minutes of the 2 hours. The crew was very professional and very attentive. They brought beer, wine and soft drinks as promised and even a few blankets as the nite chill arrived. The perspective is much different and even more breathtaking in the Schooner. The city lights from both M'hattan and Jersey were right on top of us and the Statue of Liberty as always is inspiring. We recommend this for a unique look at NYC and New Jersey. We will be looking for Adorondack II in Key West this winter. | ||||||

| i can really recommend this trip to all who are interested in a boat trip .... the crew of the boat is very kind and you will get all the time free drinks, which gives you a feeling of luxury ... you have a wonderful view and everyone will find a place outside the boat if its a sunny day. I liked most, that it was not too crowded and that the captain did not explain every small house we are passing by... its a really nice experience and all my friends were happy about my choice of going on the boat for a champagne cruise tour ! | ||||||

| I had some family from out of town - and they loved this. it gave them good perspective of the city, was fun, and is relaxing. the crew is nice and pretty much stay quiet and not over-bearing. | ||||||
