Captain for a day!
Sat, May 2  1:00 PM lanicet Male 40-49 Local Family With Children
The SailNYC experience is first rate from the front desk staff to the courteous crew and knowledgeable and well-keeled captain (Captain Kat- my wife and daughtersgirls couldn't stop talking about you all the way home!). We appreciated the call to alert us about the impending departure as we hastily found parking and once we were on the schooner, we knew we were in for a unique experience. The Adirondack is an excellent vessel, seaworthy and handcrafted with care and precision. The views of New York City and Jersey City made for wonderful photo-ops and I was thrilled as my family members steered the ship (under the captain's nurturing guidance). My wife was so taken by the experience , she was seriously considering to come back for the sunset tour for that same day! The weather was ideal and the friendly crew was ready to serve drinks and dispense information in a gracious manner. Overall, a delightful way to spent time in the city and build lasting memories.

Something different...

This was a great experience- something that many NY locals would never think of doing but should. It was relaxing and the views from the boat were great. You can sit inside and enjoy your drink or walk out onto the boat and enjoy the cool breeze. The crew is friendly and welcoming. Great time.

Perfect way to see the city

The cruise was classic and romantic. It was the perfect way to relax and see a city that you might not be able to appreciate while living there. All the hosts were friendly and entertaining. I would recommend it to other couples, tourists who like a more personalized tour, and friends who want to reconnect under a beautiful setting.

Smooth Sailing

Great idea for a brunch date with your significant other or with a group of friends. The boat's max capacity is about 70 people, however, there were only 43 people on the boat the day my girlfriend and i went and we felt that it was a bit crowded already considering the seats on the boat are along the walls (which means you have to sit next to a stranger). Other than that, the cruise around New York was simply wonderful. We saw everything we wanted to see (i.e. old and new Yankee stadium, the Cloisters, bridges, the edge of all the boroughs and some parts of Jersey) and the captain was knowledgeble of all the sites. Another plus was the 1 complimentary drink from the bar.

Amazing food, boat, crew and sights!
Sun, Apr 12  10:45 AM scooterlev Male Unspecified Local Couple on a Date
This is the 3rd brunch cruise I have taken aboard the Manhattan, and every one has been better than the previous. The food keeps getting tastier, the boat is always beautiful, and the crew just gets better and better. I took my girlfriend, who had never been on the boat before, and afterward she raved to all her friends about it . (Yes, some well earned points for me!) I have to say that as much as I love the food each time, it's the incredibly unique view you get of Manhattan and its landscape that has me keep coming back. Lots of people have been on the water near the Statue of Liberty or the Brooklyn Bridge of South Street Seaport, but only on this boat have I ever been on the Harlem River and really gotten to understand the landscape at Manhattan's northern tip, when it's just a couple hundred feet from the Bronx. We even got to see both Yankee Stadiums - the old and the new - which had all the sports fans running out to snap photos! Getting to go around the entire island, from the Hudson to the East River to the Harlem River, and back down to Chelsea Piers, gave us a great feel for the whole city. The day we went it was only in the 30s outside, but the way the boat is laid out with all the glass windows, we were able to take in all the sights while staying warm and enjoying the brunch. All in all, a fantastic trip and I'm sure I'll be back for many more.

Great friendly crew, weather was a bust!
Sat, Apr 11  2:30 PM ronkitt Male 40-49 Local Family With Children
Crew was fantastic and fun, weather was terrible and only cleart at the end. We think you need to have more food for kids. Simple foods like bagels and butter. I enjoyed the small sandwiches but all the kids, (10-18yrs.) did not. Hope to see you soon in the SUN! Thanks for the informative fun trip.

Great afternoon informal date full of fun
Sat, Apr 11  2:30 PM deerandr Male 30-39 Local Couple on a Date
We thoroughly enjoyed the trip, the food was the perfect light meal and drinks were enjoyable. It was just the right length and even though the rain was out it was nice to be in the warmth of the cabin on a rainy afternoon and eventually the sun did come out. The crew were all very pleasant, and we enjoyed the informal nature of the trip, we relaxed in a corner and the few kids on board were thoroughly enjoying the trip with out being a bother because they enjoyed being out on deck so much.

we had such a lovely trip around manhattan, i had bought the trip for my boyfriends birthday, and even though it was really raining quite badly it was just super. We did have to keep wiping the condensation off the windows but that was ok. We were thrilled when we saw that we would be going up and around the whole of manhattan, which was a great change from some other boat trips we`ve been on previously. My parents will be coming to visit in the summer and we will definately be going on this boat trip again!

Wondeerful Trip
Sat, Apr 4  10:45 AM virginiabrow Female 60-69 Local Group of Friends
This trip was a gift from our son. We invited friends, total six people. Only 20 people on boat and everything was perfect. Food was special.. Weather was rough, but boat was fine and we did not even know how windy it was until we stepped out side . interesting sights. One point, we were under the impression from print out that beer, wine, and other bloddy marys were included not just one free drink. Thjis was a problem since we were treating our friends who did not let us cover drinks. Try to make that clear when promoting event.. We had a great time. rwas

Relaxing and fun

My husband and I went on New Years Day. The boat was heated. We met a nice family and chatted most of the way. Food was good and alot of it. When the captain gave the "okay" everyone headed for the food it was terrible, at the 2nd and 3rd round people were not so "greedy". I didnt like the idea of guests making their own Belgian waffle, It held up the line. they should omit the waffles. also, guests should not be allowed to sit next to the food, that was kind of gross, there were two seats next to the buffet table. Also, they ran out of croissants and I had to have a roll. otherwise, it was a nice smooth ride and we got nice pics of the GWB and Statue of Liberty. the boat should be kept to less than 50 people to be enjoyable otherwise its "fight for your seat"

Nice NYC activity
Thu, Jan 1  11:00 AM Kelenda Female 20-29 Local Family Without Children
I took the New Years Day brunch. The ticket said we should arrive 40 minutes before departure. They didn't let us on the boat until departure time. Waiting in the hallways of Chelsea Pier was almost unbearable because it was so cold. But once we got on the boat the indoor area was heated so it was very comfortable. The boat is smaller then I expected but it was bigger then you thought when you got on. We had a full boat trip. That was about 30 people. With everyone indoors due to the cold weather, we had to sit hip to hip in the indoor heated area. The brunch was tasty. The buffet area was very small. So the food came out in 4 stages. The views from the boat where good because we had a clear day. The windows were somewhat dirty, so that impaired the view a little. I saw them clean the windows at the start of the trip so I guess the river water dirtied them the windows again as we traveled. Most people did not complain of sea sickness. But my grandmother started to get seasick after the boat turned while she was in the restroom.

Thumbs-up for SailNYC!

A group of 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon tea cruise around Manhattan on the Yacht Manhattan. It really wasn't about the food. It was about getting a view of New York that none of us had ever seen before - and we all live here! The cruise was a leisurely 2 hours, which turned out to be the perfect length. The staff was very courteous and we saw a spectacular sunset as we cruised down the West Side of Manhattan. I highly recommend any of SailNYC's excursions on the Manhattan or the Adirondack.
