We really enjoyed having the boat almost (7 other people) to ourselves. The staff seemed friendly but not much interaction with them. The highlight of the night was driving out to the Statue of Liberty and getting as close as possible to the island and just stalling for a while around the island. While up and close to lady liberty there were very few boats out that night and it seemed like we were the only ones in the harbor, something you rarely feel in NYC! If there had been appetizers/munchies with drinks I think it would have then been well worth the money spent. |

I woke up the morning of the sail. It was dark and cloudy and looked like it was going to rain. This was an Anniversary present that we were suppose to enjoy the sunset. After cutting it close we made it down there with ten minutes to spare. I had gotten a call on my cell phone but was too engrossed in making sure we found the place okay. The signs and people in Chelsea piers were very helpful locating the booth and when we got there the nice person in the booth asked if I had received her call. Turns out she was the one that called me to make sure everything was okay. (Pick up your phones people haha). It was a chili breezy afternoon so we sat inside which was a comfortable temp. The complimentary booze helped kick things off in the right direction. I'll always enjoy being on the water and to see Manhattan is always a site to enjoy. The captain and bartender were very nice and just good people to hang out with yet professional. The Sunset turned out to be beautiful as the skies cleared. I don't know if it was because we were on the water but it was beautiful and to be in front of the Statue of Liberty was amazing as well. I would recommend this to everyone. |

We took the last sail of the season (late October) and it was extremely enjoyable. Two in our party are sailors themselves and we all had a great time. The crew was very friendly and gracious and it was impressive to watch them work. Views from the boat are incredible. Our only criticism was that, since the sun sets early in late October, we would have preferred to leave the dock earlier to see more of the sunset (it was almost over by 6pm). But even so, we had a wonderful time and would recommend it to anyone. |

Visiting from Scotland, had prebooked trip as a birthday treat. Moonlight cruise on the friday cancelled due to the weather, but managed to easily transfer to the last sail of the season on the sunday.
We had a fantastic time due to very experienced crew and friendly passengers.
The trip was definately the highlight of a 5 day tourist visit to the amazing city of New York.
Would recommend this sail to anyone looking for some thing a little different, however you do need to wrap up warm as it is cold on the water. |

Highly recommend sailing with SailNYC.
The staff is very friendly and seem genuinely interested in being sure guests enjoy the experience. Willing offer information and "color" if needed but also willing to let group sit back and set a quiet tone. Entire crew gave off a a very positive, comfortable and "enjoy yourself" vibe.
Trip was easy to plan, boat left and returned on time.
Great value and of course a great way to see the City from the water. |

The sailing was exciting and energizing. Views were spectacular. But it was the energy and attitude of the crew that made the sail so much fun. They laughed with us and made sure everyone had champagne if they wanted it, kept warm and stayed safe on the boat. Even the food was surprisingly good. |

Nice date for couples. Beautiful views of Manhattan skylines and great experience for those of us who've never been on a sail boat.
Crew is friendly and hardworking.
Wish we went up the Hudson River a little bit further.
But overall had a great time. |

The boat trip itself was fun, romantic, and refreshing. With a full boatload of people it was still comfortable. The weather we had was perfect--sunny and chilly, great for snuggling under the blankets provided by the staff. The incredibly agreeable crew were responsible not only for maneuvering the boat and ensuring our safety, but serving wine, champagne, beer and hot cider, as well as lunch later on, and they were very attentive and engaging. I highly recommend this both for a new couple looking for a fun way to get out or an established couple looking for an escape from the city! We may go back out in the spring with a whole group of friends... |

Missed it last year and vowed to go this year. Well worth it! Staff was very friendly. Weather was perfect. A little chilly but on-board blankets did the trick. Thanks!!! |

I love Autumn and everything about it, the smell of the air, the colors of the trees, the chilly breeze. This really give us a chance to take in the sights and connect with the environment. With the help of the wind, we were seriously sailing, not just riding around with the sails up. I felt like I was on vacation for 4 hours when really I live only a few miles away. Couldn't have asked for a better crew either. They were friendly and just as excited to be out there as the rest of us. One piece of advice...dress in many layers. It gets cold out there! :) |

This is a beautiful afternoon on a gorgeous river in a wonderful sailing vessel with a competant delightful, accomodating crew. AND it was far too cold to be on the water even with the hot cider and blankets!
I highly recommend this adventure on a WARM or HOT summer day or a WARM early fall day.
Food left a great deal to be desired.
We are a married couple and will take our grandchild on a shorter cruise this coming summer.
The few children aboard got very bored after an hour or so.
I think a two houir cruise is better suited to children under 13. |

What more could you want? The weather was a bit on the cool and windy side but the Manhattan is a lovely boat and the crew was just fantastic. They were gracious, helpful and friendly. It was almost like you were on an outing with family. On top of that, the captain was very knowledgeable and was happy to take the time to answer any questions we had about the boat or the surrounding landscape. The food was superb as well. It was like really good homeade ham, quiche, apple pie and a great assortment of cheeses, smoked salmon, bagels and pastries.
We even got back a little early thanks to a stiff tailwind, so the captain went ahead and take a loop down around the statue of liberty. All in all, a perfect cruise, highly recommended. |
