Great team experience in spite of the rain

| We had a group of about 20 people from different areas of the corporation marketing, finance, operations, IT and outside consultants who have been working on a project together for about 6 -9 months. We scheduled the cruse as an opportunity for all of us to get together outside the work environment and see a side a NYC that many of us had never seen before, even the ones who live here. We were apprehensive about the forecasted 20-30% probability for rain. We debated whether to try to reschedule or not but finally decided that there was no guarantee of ever picking a day with 0% chance of rain. In the end we decided to trust the judgment of the very professional crew who do this for a living. They monitor the weather with radar. If they decided the weather was too bad they would cancel the trip. Five of our group wimped out and stayed home. They missed a great experience! Sure enough it did start to drizzle on us about the time we were getting ready to leave. But the crew provided everyone with some very attractive yellow rain coats (Large only, no XLs or petites). It continue to drizzle for about the first half of the trip but that didn't dampen our spirits. If anything it added to the experience and the team bonding. The wine, beer and Champaign probably helped :-) Then the rain stopped. We had a great view of the Statue of Liberty and the lights of NY & NJ. It was beautiful. The experience of sailing into the wind on a magnificent sailing yacht with the boat heeled to one side from the wind as you sail past the lights of NY was an amazing experience that none of us will ever forget. I can't say enough good things about the service we receive from the whole City Lights team from the front office that helped us plan and schedule our trip to the crew on the boat, they were all professionals. More than that, they were genuinely nice and seemed to really enjoy what they were doing. Bottom line, it was a great experience all the way around. I'm looking forward to doing it again soon. | ||||||

| I have been out on the Adirondack before as well as the yacht cruise and loved both of them tremendously. I have background on the water and try to get out as often as possible. When we went out on Sunday the crew was unable to raise the back sail and thus we wound up motoring for the first 40 minutes of our 2 hour cruise. They were never able to raise that back sail for the entire cruise and on a very windy day we barely felt the wind in our hair. I felt that the boat was not fully operational for the sail and that we did not get a 2 hour cruise but rather a 1 hour cruise and motoring back in to the dock. I felt jipped and disappointed that when I asked about getting a credit toward another ride they told me "you got what you paid for". When I pressed further I was told that the back sail being operational or not did not matter since there were kids on board the vessel and they would have taken it easy anyway? Anyway, I would like to go out again, however I am unsure at this point if I will or not. Look forward to hearing from you. Sam Rotella | ||||||

| The trip was GREAT....I absolutely recommend it to others. The crew were GREAT....the vessle was GREAT. The ONLY complaint I have was about a woman on-board who talked loudly, non-stop to the captain the WHOLE trip. I was disappointed that the captain didn't tell her he was busy with the ship or that he needed to point out sites along the route to other passangers. She had him so involved in conversation about her whole life and her family, job, niece, etc. etc., that no one could ask the captain about anything. Non-stop chatter for the entire 2 hours. The captain was being nice to her, but the trip would have been much more pleasant if at least the conversation had been about the ship or the view or the historic buildings and sites along the way - I'm from out of town and don't know most of the buildings and had expected the captain to give us a little info during the trip. | ||||||

| My husband and I (from NJ) needed something to do with my parents, now in the 80's and who used to be avid sailors - transatlantic, caribbean, inland water way, etc. This was perfect - the only thing my father truly enjoys! The best part was - 6 passengers & 3 Crew! Captain Cat, Kate & Tom were great. it was a delightful afternoon - glorious day & fabulous wind! We'll do it again! | ||||||

| It was a wonderful evening, spent on a beautiful schooner. The wine was generously provided - maybe a bit of bread to soak it up would have helped, but fabulous views over Mahattan, and a jolly atmosphere. Would recommend it to anyone. We were on a break from the UK and had a ball! Thanks a lot. | ||||||

| My husband and I did not know what to expect - we worried about how crowded the boat would be, but we were very comfortable being seated in the back of the boat. It was a beautiful day and the captain and crew could not have been more gracious. | ||||||

| This tour was recommended by some friends that live in Manhattan and said this was a great way to see the Harbor, Lower Manhattan Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. We had gorgeous weather and the trip was really great. Wonderful staff and great service. We would highly recommend this tour. | ||||||

| The Sunset Cruise aboard the Imagine was the perfect end to our day, and the highlight of our weekend. The crew did a great job - the two children in our group enjoyed a few minutes "behind the wheel". I highly recommend this for all ages - it gives a wonderful view of Manhattan from the water and a beautiful way to see the city lights. | ||||||

| This was a special outing, offering a spectacular and alternative perspective on the New York cityscape. Crew were friendly and professional. A relaxing break from the busy city streets, bota not overcrowded so whole effect was pleasant. Postonement from previous day due to bad weather was handled in a straightforwad, unfussy manner. Crew seemed to really enjoy what they were doing. | ||||||
