Fabulous cruise Want to do it again

My husband and I had a wonderful cruise around Manhattan. The Captain and crew were professional and a lot of fun. They served beautifully and were very informative. The food was plentiful and delicious. Just as soon as were left the dock, the food started to come out. No one rushed the people. There was enough for everyone. I can't wait to go again. We have told so many of our friends and we will probably go back with a group. Thanks for a wonderful day.

Fantastic!

I loved the brunch cruise we booked for my birthday and last day in New York! Despite the grey skies, I thoroughly enjoyed it - naturally, the sun came out as we were heading back to the pier. The Manhattan is a beautiful wooden boat with wide windows (also overhead) and enclosed (it would have been fine with rain), and you can go out onto the prow for better views (remember to pack a windbreaker!), it's a lot nicer than those massive tourist ships we saw around Liberty island. The crew was great, the running commentary was interesting and unobtrusive (funny, to the point, with long pauses - no-one wants to listen to anything for almost three hours) and brunch was delicious and abundant (the crew kept bringing more and more platters out!). It's a great way to get an overall idea of Manhattan, and to see lots of areas one doesn't normally visit. We thoroughly enjoyed it! But a few people on board looked a bit bored - I would advise you not to book this unless you're fascinated by water, bridges and skylines to the point that the 2 and three quarter hours will just fly by... which is exactly my case. Also, I think the cruise was not fully booked, and there was plenty of space to move about but only just about enough for everyone to sit down, but I think with a full house it's probably a bit cramped. Altogether, if you really like being surrounded by water and would like to give yourself a treat, I'd recommend this!

Better than a night at the bar...

The crew had us laughing the entire trip. They were super friendly and obviously not disturbed that 2 guys were cuddled up under a blanket. We drank beer and snapped photos while meeting new friends on the boat. There were quite a few locals on the boat (including us) and we were all relieved there wasn't tour guide pointing out the tall lady with the torch in her hand. Overall, this was an awesome outing and I recommend it to everyone. We plan on sailing again very soon. PS. the toasted lager is very delish!

The Perfect Present for Mom

I live in NYC now, and my mom came to visit the weekend after Mother's Day, so I decided this would be her Mother's Day surprise present! She loved it! We both had a great time, and seeing the city from the water at night is pure MAGIC! The crew kept the champagne flowing and we were well taken care of with blankets provided to everyone on board. Can't say enough wonderful things about the trip. Locals and Travelers alike.. should make time for a peaceful experience in the city.

Great views of lower Manhattan & Statue of Liberty
Fri, May 15  6:00 PM TomHaeusler Male 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
My wife and I were in NYC for a week. We sailed on the Adirondack. There was a gentle breeze and we enjoyed the sail. I have some great up close pictures of the Statue of Liberty and the several other sail boats and ships in the harbor. The sun set on queue over Jersey City. We met two other couples and were well served by the crew. My wife appreciated the loaner blanket since it was cool. Watching the young lads jumping up and down to hoist the sails was a treat in its own right. Our biggest challenge was finding the entrance to the building (where it passes through to the pier), but that was not that big of a deal.

Great way to see Manhattan and Statue of Liberty
Thu, May 14  3:30 PM Seannicklin Male 40-49 International Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
Spent a fantastic afternoon on the Adirondack. Bright sunshine, stiff wind. Exhilarating trip round Statue of Liberty, and more gentle, conversational return. All the crew welcoming and knowledgeable. Saw all the obvious sites and some less so, such as the Frying Pan and bar/restaurant at the end of Pier 66. Recommend wholeheartedly.

After skipping out once due to bad weather, my boyfriend and I took another swing and had a wonderful time aboard the Schooner Adirondack with Captain Sarah and her lovely crew. We got a great look at the statue of liberty, and the sun was hitting the building of lower Manhattan on our trip back which made for a beautiful scene. In terms of planning you'll want to check the weather forecast before you buy tickets, as the trip won't be canceled unless the weather is really severe- and your definition of severe weather may not be on par with the opinion of a pro. Also be sure to bundle up- I wore heavy jeans, three shirts under a sweatshirt, gloves, and I was still a bit chilled. It gets quite windy out there, but that's part of the fun! You may want to bring something to snack on with the complimentary champagne, and bring some extra cash so you can tip the crew on your way out (they earned it!).

Great for families with differing interests

What to do for Mother's Day with two over-20 children was a problem, espcially since no one enjoys my preferences: a museum or a play. We found the schooner info on a website and our problem was solved. Although the weather was a bit chilly the sun was shining and we had a lovely sail with a beautiful, upclose and quiet view of the city skylines, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, all the lower Manhattan bridges and the Verrazano. The crew was upbeat, couteous and obliging. We had some "guest skippers" (kids from other groups) who did very well. The NY State champagne we purchased on board was very fine and thanks to the thorough description online, we even knew to bring cheese, veggies and dip to enjoy with it! All that, and blankets for when the sun went in and we felt a little chill! Thanks for a geat Mother's Day.

It was Mother's Day and my daugther choosed to send my sister and I on this day cruise. I've been on cruises before but did not know what to expect regarding refreshments. The food was delightfully refeshing and the sun and scenery was also very beautiful. The atmosphere and people were full of charm and the crew was also accommodating. We really enjoyed ourselves and would recommend this on any ordinary day and well. It's an easy way to relax in a busy place like New York.

Better than Expected

We were lucky enough to have strong winds and tons of sun. Although we listed dramatically, no one in our group felt seasick. The crew was friendly and knowledgable. Our cruise was pretty crowded (25+ people) but we barely noticed. After living in NYC for 12 years I would put this activity in my Top 3 fun things to do in the city.
