The city lights sail was great. I highly recommend it. It's so peaceful out on the water you'll forget you're in nyc. We even had some light rain and I still felt completely relaxed--champagne and nyc lights=awesome.

Sailing, Sunsets and.....cellphones?

We really enjoyed the experience of sailing on the Hudson. The captain and crew were very personable and accommodating. I did not however enjoy hearing cellphone conversations of other passengers. It would be a good idea to make an announcement before leaving the pier that no cellphone conversations are allowed during the sail.

Romantic anniversary sail

My wife and I have been married for five years. We were trying to decide what to do on our fifth anniversary. She came up with the idea of a sail. We researched on the web, and luckily came across the Schooner Adirondack. We went with 11 friends and relatives. The crew was helpful, professional and friendly. The setting and weather were great. We loved being with family and friends, having a drink, and watching New York go by. We brought a picnic along, which was fun to eat bobbing up and down. We would recommend it to anyone - it is well worth the price. A wonderful anniversary thing to do!

Unique and beautiful evening

I was one of eight Southern women to visit NY City recently. Our ages ranged from 39 to 50 something. Some had been to NY before, some had not. For those of us who did not want to face the "maddening crowd" on the normal Statue of Liberty tours, we decided we needed to see the beautiful Lady from sail boat. We took the sunset cruise down the Hudson and turned around in front of the Statue of Liberty. The Statue, Ellis Island and the New Jersey and Manhattan skylines were glorious. The crew was very nice and experienced. Since we went late October, blankets accompanied the wine and soft drinks. This was definitely one of the highlites of the entire trip and so very reasonable! I can't wait to make the trip again.

Weather not great, but enjoyed the cruise and crew
Sun, Sep 10, 06   6:00 PM psbklyn Female Unspecified Combination Other
The weather was overcast and gray, but my friend and I had a nice time, nonetheless. I felt very confident in the captain and crew. The one downer was a loud and rather overbearing female passenger at the back of the boat. As it is not easy to change places on the boat once the ride has begun, passengers can get stuck next to a loud, discourteous fellow passenger talking about her wedding plans, how much her rent is, etc.

A Perfect Sail

The Sunset Sail was wonderful. The breeze was perfect, at 5 - 10 knots. A local sailing club was having a regatta, and so the harbor was full of sailboats, like white butterflies turning golden in the setting sun. A gorgeous orange, pink, and lilac sunset was happening just as we passed the Statue of Liberty. As we headed home a big yellow full moon arose over the city, and behind us the memorial lights from the World Trade Center site lit up the sky. A memorable evening evening, indeed.

GREAT Way to see NYC Skyline & Statue of Liberty

Much better way to see the city via the waterways than on a big tourist boat.....It didn't hurt either that the weather COULDN'T have been any more perfect. Take a picnic lunch or dinner along to make it even more fun.

We really enjoyed the experience. At first I questioned being on a day cruise for 3 hours but, the time just flew by. We saw so many interesting things about the city. I live here and it was still fun and relaxing for me. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Good Time

The boat that we were on had a large group of women from a corporate group. The seating was problematic in the beginning because they had boarded first and were spread everywjere. It would have been nice to have the crew ask for seating for our group of four. That really is the only reason my enthusiasm is less than the highest.

Fun & relaxing sail and friendly crew
Sat, Oct 1, 05   1:00 PM Colinbday Unspecified Unspecified Combination Group of Friends
Our group (of 28 to 38 year-olds) took the 1 PM sail (which was not crowded and very pleasant.) The captain & 2 crew members were very friendly & courteous. I highly recommend booking this company if you want a casual sail boat cruise on the Hudson.
