Relaxing Hudson Sail

| The Adirondack's staff provides a comfortable environment on a relaxing sail up the Hudson River. Be sure to dress warm and prepare to cuddle up. The wind combined with brisk weather can be a bit cold out of the sun, but this is the fall season. The views are great along the Jersey coastline and the Manhattan skyline as always. A simple lunch combined with exotic local brewery beverages, makes for a great 'start of the season' pumpkin ale lift. Be sure to enjoy a candy apple along side a toasted blueberry ale (brewed locally in Long Island), while you watch the sun caress off the water. Photography fan? This schooner sail will set you up with great telescopic shots of the GW bridge and a small hidden lighthouse under it (rarely known about in the tri-state area). Be sure to practice your color enhancement skills and shoot the various earth tones reflecting across the river. A simple modest 4 hour trip, combined with good weather, this sail is a great outing for a first date or to be reminiscent of past ones. Chit chat about the various parts of the city, or simply enjoy one another's company while basking in the colorful views. Calm, relaxing, and soothing, this schooner trip will sail right by you if you don't stop to enjoy a hot cider while floating outside the greatest city in the world. | ||||||

A total rip-off

| It was a gorgeous day - and a beautiful boat. But far too expensive for what was offered. The lunch consisted of a turkey & cranberry sandwich - no choice - and two choices of wine: red or white. The red was dreadful - we did not dare to try the white. We also could - and still cannot - understand why the captain (Biff, a.k.a. Julian) spent and awful lot of time reaching the George Washington Bridge, then barely passed it before heading back. And then practically moored at the Jersey shore with still two hours to go. The autumn colours of the palisades and west Manhattan were nice, but it would have been nicer to see some more further up-river. Either the cruise should be extended in terms of distance sailed, or shortened (by at least one hour) in time. The price could also easily be cut in one third. (or more). Finally, we really cannot enjoy the American summer camp / cheer leader style with "Are we having a good time" every two minutes, and the frequent and totally over-the-top warnings about every potential danger (with the omission of choking on the turkey sandwich or bad Merlot). In short, not worth it... | ||||||

| The cruise was much more than we ever expected. The boat left on time and the staff was remarkable! The food was wonderful but I wish we had more choices in vegan dishes as my wife is vegan so she could not enjoy the fabulous ham and quiche as I did. The commentary was incredibly informational and turned out to be quite an educational experience for us. | ||||||

| Amazing views, informative staff, good food, nice weather helped but what a way to see a fantastic city - so many surprises on trip - eg the lesser known stretches of river. | ||||||

| My wife and enjoyed an action packed journey around the island. Seeing all the sites from the water made our trip later in the week up the Empire State Building even better as we recognised many of the buildings. The hosts were very welcoming and answered all our questions. The food was splendid and there was plenty for everyone. The boat was very comfortable and in October was by no means crowded. Overall a very pleasant and worthwhile excursion. Thanks | ||||||

| This is such a nice event to attend. The boat is beatiful and Wendy, your hostess, is very educated in her wines and quite entertaining. The trip is spectacular at night time ... all those city lights - wow what a sight!!! They will accomodate you for any reasonable personal requests such as "surprise" birthdays. | ||||||

| Wendy's strength is the Great Pairings of food and wine! Some of the wines were just ok on their own - but when paired they truly shine. Having the tasting on a boat makes it more of an adventure. | ||||||

Miserable Trip

| Sail boat went out in windy 50 degree weather with rain calleed for. It was very cold (my wife had 3 blankets) and started raining very hard . The crew, who was very good, passed out rain parkas. Needless to say we were very cold and wet when we landed at the appointed time. There was no place to get out of the rain other than where they were storing blankets and rain parkas. The boat did not come back early because of the weather. It was a miserable trip and should have been called off due to the weather. | ||||||

| It was a great day on the water celebrating my wife's 50th even though the weather was a little uncooperative - rain and 45 degress - we still had a terrific time! The crew and captain of the Manhattan were gracious hosts providing everything needed - great food, service and narration of the NYC views. Would recommend to anyone and look forward to going on another one of their great cruises. Gerry from NJ | ||||||

| The crew was very professional and courteous, the boat absolutely fantastic. Good prices on champaign bottles and spirits. Also very helpful staff at your headquarters who helped us switch to the yacht when it was clear the weather wasn't going to cooperate. Only request was that the cruise be about 20 minutes longer, and spend more time at the Statue as it is the definite highlight. Thanks for a great time. | ||||||
