Great way to see New York Daytime Sail on the Schooner Imagine

The skipper was one of the people you don't always find in NY - someone who is relaxed and loves his job with a passion! The whole crew were fun and happy people and made sure nobody was thirsty for very long. We used the engine only for a short time and were under sail for the rest of the time so it was peaceful and very relaxing. There was no running commentary in 10 languages (thankfully) though people were very willing to explain what we were seeing if you asked the question. I have both lived in and visited NY many times but never enjoyed a tourist event as much as this one.

My husband and I were spending the weekend in Manhattan and decided that a sail down the Hudson would be a nice way to spend the afternoon. The ship was lovely and the crew was attentive but not overbearing. It was nice to escape the noise of the city and sail down to the Statue of Liberty and back. I highly recommend this trip.

It was great, they left you alone to do your own thing and only bothered you to ask you if you wanted a drink. If you wanted information they had it but there was no loud speaker with a guy saying over there is blah blah blah. Great time to spend with someone out on the river

We enjoyed this activity; we had perfect weather (80 degrees F, cool breeze and gentle sunshine) which no doubt enhanced our experience however as long as one was prepared with the right layers of clothing in other weather the experience would still be pleasant. The staff were very pleasant; no loud obnoxious New Yorkers on staff; just polite and low key expert handling of the vessel. We had the utmost confidence at all times. We would thoroughly recommend this activity.

I brought my boyfriend with me as a birthday gift, it was wonderful, except for 2 people who were very loud and obnoxious sitting near us (very drunk and rude), we had to move, but after we moved it was really enjoyable.

I would definitely recommend taking this cruise, whether it's for a regular sail or the brunch cruise. My friend and I did the brunch cruise and were very happy with everything. There were plenty of foods to choose from and the adventure around Manhattan itself was worth it. We took the full cruise which starts off heading downtown (Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Seaport) and takes you up the East River where you pass under at least 18 bridges and see the sites of Queens and the Bronx (Yankee Stadium). When the boat turns it then comes down the Hudson River and you see all the sites on that side as well. Definitely an enjoyable cruise and a great way to get some sun. It isn't overly crowded like Circle Line and is more intimate. It's a nice ride to go on a date or as a present to a loved one.

This had to have been the most perfect way to spend a day!! I bought this as a Valentine's day gift for my boyfriend-something we could do together when the weather got nice. It was absolutely PERFECT! The brunch was lovely and the staff was even better! I highly reccommend this trip-best way to see Manhattan and was definitely romantic. I'm looking forward to trying the sunset cruise next!!

Over all this is a great boat to hang out in, with ot without kids. The only thing I would say they can put a little more work on is the type of food being served. I know its a bunch and all so there shouldn't be anything too heavy but with the price we paid we would expected a little more. And the self serving / cooking of waffers might need to go. It is hard enough for some one that doesn't cook make food on solid ground and it will be 10 times harder on a moving boat. Luckily the water was pretty calm and we can move around the boat pretty safey and freely. The staffs were great, helpful and accommondating.

We took the 6pm 2 hour trip..it happened to be a beautiful day and the sun started to set for our trip. It was a great way to start up an evening. The costs may be a little steep for some, but it does include some drinks and if you plan a picnic you can enjoy food on board and not worry about dining afterward...recommended.

I've lived in the city for 12 years and have been on the Hudson river before when invited on a private boat but those invitations don't come often-I could do this every weekend if I wanted!! My boyfriend and I went with two other couple and a single guy friend-we had a blast. It was a beautiful night on the Hudson river. And what a value.... you'd easily spend $50.00 on drinks at a crowded bar or restaurant ... this way you get to see the beautiful NYC skyline on the open water. The staff was friendly and the whole experience was effortless-I live within walking distance of the pier so transportation was a piece of cake. Next time I'll go on the 8:30 sail to be out under the stars. It's very romantic too! I would also bring food, though we did go to the Chelsea Brewery afterwards for noshing. I have recommended to all my friends and co-workers.

If you are lucky enough to have a good wind, bright sun, and warm weather then there might possibly be no better way to spend the start of an evening in New York City. We live downtown not far from the pier and it was an easy trip over to the dock and off into the hudson and then the harbor. Bring a camera as you will get some wonderful shots of the boat, your companion(s), and the city from the water. PLUS FREE BEER! The crew was excellent and the trip relaxed and pleasant. I highly recomend this trip.

BEING ON THE WATER, WITH THE OPTION OF A ROOF IN THE RAIN WAS WONDERFUL. THE VIEWING POSITION FOR THE FIREWORKS WAS VERY FAR AWAY FROM THE ACTUAL SITE, AND THE BARGE WAS OBSCURED. THE BAR WAS NICE, BUT THE FOOD WAS PRETTY POOR. NONETHELESS, I WOULD GO AGAIN.
