Sunset Sail aboard the Schooners Adirondack

we loved it!!!!

We had an excellent trip, the crew were friendly and enthusiastic and the duration of the trip was just right. we were booked on the 6.30 to 8.30pm trip which was lovely as we went out in the daylights, saw the sun set nd came back in the dark.

The boat was stunning and it was really nice for us Manhattanites to see the city from a new angle. If you're curious question-askers, get a seat near the steering wheel so you can ask the captain questions without having to move around (I was too focused on conserving warmth and so didn't budge and was out of earshot of the friendly captain). We went on the boat on a freezing cold, late November day with gorgeous clear skies--even the sailors were snapping pics at the Statue of Liberty--and gusty winds. Luckily, there were blankets on the boat which proved highly necessary! I was still cold in the wind but it was such a crisp evening that it was worth it. Plus, Swiss Miss cocoa mix warmed my hands! Highly recommended. We can't wait to do it again in the summer!

We took our first sail on the Adirondack in 2008 on the day we got engaged and since then it has held a special place for us. This is the third time we've sailed with Sail NYC. Leaving promptly on time (don't be late!) the sail is so peaceful; a perfect antidote to the hustle & bustle of the city. The boat sails down from Chelsea Piers to the Statue of Liberty in time for sunset (if you select that time). You get wonderful views of the lower Manhattan skyline and Hoboken on the other side of the Hudson. The views of the Statue of Liberty cannot be bettered - even if you're on the island itself! Once the sun has set the boat returns back to the pier. The entire trip takes 2 hours and complimentary drinks are served. I cannot recommend this sail highly enough - just make sure you bring your camera and layers, especially towards the end of the season.

We loved this afternoon sail! The weather was chilly, but sun was shining, the crew was friendly and great. We had great fun on this very different New York City activity.

Went with my girlfriend and a couple of friends. Had a great time though it was a little cold and windy, especially for ladies. Excelent views and drinks. I would definitely recommend it.

The cruise, nice. But don't expect anything but the basics as far as the beverages go, pretty average. But the sail, and of course, the view of the city, lovely.

Everything that is advertised is true! Great location w/easy access (Parking and restaurants were close.) Fantastic views, friendly capt. And crew members, excellent hospitality, free drinks and a dessert. I will return in the summer!

I really enjoyed looking at all the buildings, and being on the water. The staff was so helpful and nice, made sure we were comfortable with blankets and served us all kinds of drinks and even brownies. I'd definitely do this again!
