Perfect way to end the week --- Friday night sail out in the harbor! Cares truly disappear, even if they return again on Monday.

We really enjoyed the experience of sailing on the Hudson. The captain and crew were very personable and accommodating. I did not however enjoy hearing cellphone conversations of other passengers. It would be a good idea to make an announcement before leaving the pier that no cellphone conversations are allowed during the sail.

If you are lucky enough to have a good wind, bright sun, and warm weather then there might possibly be no better way to spend the start of an evening in New York City. We live downtown not far from the pier and it was an easy trip over to the dock and off into the hudson and then the harbor. Bring a camera as you will get some wonderful shots of the boat, your companion(s), and the city from the water. PLUS FREE BEER! The crew was excellent and the trip relaxed and pleasant. I highly recomend this trip.

Romantic anniversary sail

My wife and I have been married for five years. We were trying to decide what to do on our fifth anniversary. She came up with the idea of a sail. We researched on the web, and luckily came across the Schooner Adirondack. We went with 11 friends and relatives. The crew was helpful, professional and friendly. The setting and weather were great. We loved being with family and friends, having a drink, and watching New York go by. We brought a picnic along, which was fun to eat bobbing up and down. We would recommend it to anyone - it is well worth the price. A wonderful anniversary thing to do!

Memorable. Interesting. Once in a lifetime experience. Hot tip: Sit near the captain to hear terrific stories and NYC factoids. Also, read all provided info before you go. Be a good sport!

Unique New York City activity

This sunset sail was an exciting and unusual way to experience THE CITY: sailing out at sunset, and back in the dark revealed the unique character and unexpected beauty of the city: the sunset on the water and reflected on the buildings, the Statute of Liberty with the moon shining on it and glistening on the water, and, through the darkness, the glittering city lights as we sailed back into the pier. The boat's gentle rocking, created by wind and water, was both calming and exhilarating. The Captain was generous in working with me, and even rescheduled my sail for another evening, when I couldn't make it until 1 hour after sailing-time due to my seriously delayed flight. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and extraordinarily attentive. It was very cool, so they provided, along with champagne, wine, beer, and soda, hot cider and blankets! I would recommend this sail for anyone interested in experiencing what the harbor aspects of a visit to New York offer!
