Afternoon sail

Wendy Crispell was informative and friendly. The crew was as well. We enjoyed the food pairings and the wine choices. Loved the intimacy of the group (12). Liked the fact that we went so far north on the East River. Never went that far before. We would do it again.

Didn't want it to come to an end...

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of being guests on The Manhattan for a Wine Tasting Cruise during our last trip to NYC and had a wonderful time! We were exposed to unique Greek wines that were completely new to us and loved every one of them! We were served a generous portion of each wine we sampled (5, plus a port), but our group was on the smaller side (about 20 ppl) so maybe they gave each of us a bit extra. The appetizers were paired perfectly with each wine and there was plenty of cheese to nibble on, as well. The staff was very friendly and informative. The other guests on the cruise were also very fun and contributed to the whole experience. The weather was a little on the cloudy side, but our pictures of the City, Brooklyn Bridge, and Statue of Liberty were still gorgeous. The boat was kept at a comfortable temperature and we had a very smooth ride even the water appeared to be more rough than usual. I would definitely recommend this cruise to a friend or anyone looking for something a little different to do in NYC! Great way to see the City and I will definitely book another cruise Harbor Line next time I'm in New York.

a fun touristy thing to do - even for locals

I really liked the informal feel of this wine tasting. Basically you could sit on comfy benches, go out on the deck to check out the city, and be interrupted only by the host pouring more wine and bringing out appetizers that were not only tasty, but matched the wines. It was also great to see the city from such interesting views. My friend and I really enjoyed ourselves and I would do this again with other out of town guests. Oh- and the chef even made me some veggie treats as there were a number of appetizers that had meat in them. I didn't even ask - they just brought them out after I refused a couple of the meaty treats.

A Wonderfully enjoyable afternoon

The yacht wasn't crowded at all which was nice. I was with a group of 6 people (it was for my boyfriend's birthday) and we had our own private area. There were about 3-4 other groups, also having their own space and area. The atmosphere was fun and light. Wendy did a great job of explaining the history of Greece and its wine and the food pairings were delicious. We especially enjoyed going outside on the yacht and enjoying the cool breeze as well as appreciating the viewable sites. I would definiely go again.

A group of eight of us took my sister on this to celebrate her 40th birthday. It was a spectacular night and sunset. We tried at least six different wines that were very generous pours and delicous. The appetizers that accompanied the tastings were incredibly tasty. We had dinner reservations afterwards that we ended up ordering a couple appetizers and a drink because we were all so stuffed with food and drink. Overall we loved it and would do it again. The crew were friendly, informative and generous. A great bang for your buck!!

Lovely evening; lovely wines!

The boat ride at sunset was a lovely venue for enjoying and learning about Greek wines. A fine selection of indigenous varietals was offered, accompanied by tasty foods. The hostess was gracious and knowledgeable, and the event was well organized. I would do this again and recommend to others.

bad wine and tapas
Sat, Jul 25  2:30 PM ddneuworth Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Enjoyed the sail and staff, but the tapas were awful--my aunt got sick from the salmon--it tasted awful. The sparkling wine was not our thing, so we were not wild about that. But seriously, do somethng about the tapas and offer more of them and less rounds of wine. Other than that the boat and staff were wonderful.

a beautiful boat.

Wine and tapas service a little disorganized. A large group had a birthday party on board. This activity interupted the info being provided by the wine expert.

Great date

Was looking for something unique to do with my girlfriend for her birthday and came across this gem. It seems expensive, but you get a lot: very entertaining boat ride that takes off from the Chelsea Pier, loops around the bottom than up the East side to about the mid-fifties...then back again. All the while you are enjoying some really tasty wines, learning about each as you go, and enjoying the appetizers that are specifically paired with each wine. Multiple wines and heavy pours ensure you fully enjoy each and that everyone is feeling good by the end. We are in our mid-twenties, though there were some 50+ and everyone seemed to have a great time.

Relaxing and Educational
Mon, Jul 20  6:30 PM Shadow427 Female 40-49 Local Group of Friends
Wendy Crispell provided a balance of education with relaxation. Her knowledge and passion for wines is obvious. The yacht was cozy and comfortable with just the right amount of people to have interaction, yet, not feel a part of a crowd. Of course, the sites of NY from the water are beautiful! THANKS!
