Met my expectations in every way.

The ship was handsome and comfortable, with great visibility and a staff that was friendly and well-trained. The architect who accompanied us was excellent.....incredibly well-informed, patient, and with a good sense of humor. We happened to have fine weather, so visibility was great and we were able to see "sides" of the city we'd never seen before. It was also a remarkable opportunity to actually see the "island" of Manhattan and how each of the neighborhoods of New York connected with each other. Sailing around the island, out of the noise and congestion of vehicular traffic, it was possible to imagine what the early settlers saw as they made their way across the land mass and up and down its stream and rivers. It was a remarkable day!

Fantastic Manhatten views from a new perspective

I'm living in Sweden and was visiting my boyfriend who is born and raised in Manhatten. We went on a two hour sail with the Adirondack. It was a very nice experience for both of us, since the perspective from the Hudson is not something that even New Yorkers usually see. The crew was very nice and helpful in every way and happy to share their experiences and stories with us. All in all I can really recommend this way of seeing Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty.

My sisters gave my husband and I a gift certificate fr the cruise at Xmass. We choose this one as it was my birthday. It was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. The cruise around Manhatten was perfect and the wine and cheese and lectures were absolutely superb.

Highly recommended--great value for the price

I decided to book a sail for my boyfriend's surprise birthday and invited a dozen friends to join. I am so happy I decided to go on the sail rather than do the typical dinner out. EVERYONE told me they loved the sail and that it was a great birthday idea. My boyfriend later described the experience as epic. Basically, 40 or so dollars buys you a trip on a boat, amazing views of the city, and free drinks. ABSOLUTELY worth the $40. The only detail that would have made it more amazing is if there were fewer people on the boat, but it was a beautiful spring day on Saturday so I can't say that I was really surprised.

Good for views but less so for information

First, dress warm. Second, be sure you don't get sea sick easily. If you heed those warnings, I think it's a fun trip and a different type of tourist experience -- one that this long-time NYC resident was able to handle with her visiting mom. But it's more about being outdoors, on the water, looking at Manhattan/NJ than it is about learning about NYC landmarks/architecture. I think on the bigger touristy boats, they might be able to share more information. On this trip, it's a bit too difficult, with the wind blowing, and the crew having to actually maneuver the boat (for which I am very grateful for their skill). We had a lovely day for the trip, so it made it very worthwhile.

Perfect weather, afternoon, and overall experience. Great value at this price. As a local, I can attest that this was many most enjoyable experience to-date seeing a wide swath of the City at once.

No area for my daughter and I to sit
Sat, May 4  10:00 AM mrosco33 Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
We were seated towards the back of the boat and a tour guide had both tables filled with 10 people. To our surprise there was no where for us to sit. My daughter managed to squeeze a small piece of the table and I sat on the edge of a seat with no way to eat. This was followed by tour guide approaching my daughter and I and telling us that we were sitting in a reserved area but that he would be so gracious to share with us. Again, we had no seat and were told we didn't belong in tour group area. The crew did nothing about this. Absent having no place to sit the food was decent and going around the island was interesting. For the price paid and the experience I would rate my experience as poor.

Wonderful outing!

We took the brunch cruise on a very nice boat, with a knowledgeable captain/commentator and tasty and varied food. We cruised around the whole of Manhattan accompanied by very interesting commentary from the captain. The crew was friendly and helpful, the food delicious. One can see much more of the city from the water. Highly recommended!

Fun and relaxing outing

My two sisters and I celebrated my 40th birthday in NYC with no spouses or kids. We spent Friday evening on the Hudson. The boat and its crew were awesome. We expected it to be cold, but it was colder than we expected. Fortunately, the crew had plenty of fleece blankets. It was a tasteful crowd on the boat as well. We enjoyed the people who were sailed with.

No better way to see the NY skyline
Fri, May 3  3:30 PM rorydale Male 30-39 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Simply the best way to see New York. Being on the water with the wind in the sails is so peaceful. I've taken the trip five times now, every time I have friends or family visiting. Love it!

A beautiful boat; great staff and superb guide. I think my wife and I were the only locals on the boat but we certainly got a huge amount out of this. I wouldn't recommend this for children, but for adults looking for a unique view of NYC I wouldn't miss. It might seem a bit expensive, but the small boat, snacks, drinks and general high quality make this well worth it.

It was an excellent sunny day. The staff and leaders of the tour were professional, friendly and well informed. I also felt quite safe on the boat in the rivers.
